When: April 18 - 10:30 am
Where: Play the Game Read the Story, 9808 Carousel Center Drive, Syracuse, NY 13290
Prizes: CASH PRIZES! (see below for breakdown)
Entry Fee: $25

Details:
Doors open at 9:00 am, Registration ends at 10:15 am, event starts at 10:30am (Deck Registration Required)

The event will be Sanctioned Standard Format. There will be x rounds of swiss based on attendance with cut to top 8.

Top 8 Prizes:


1st Place: $1000*
2nd Place: $400*
3rd and 4th: $150* each
5th - 8th: $75* each
Door prizes

Free Deck Keeper with entry! (Excellent for EDH)
Foil Ravnica Birds of Paradise
Foil Textless Cryptic Command

Foil Wilt-Leaf Liege




Side events:

$15 - 8 person booster drafts - single elimination, 1st: 9 packs, 2nd: 3 packs.
$3 - 4 person Fluxx games, winner keeps Fluxx!
Free EDH Open play

*Prize slots are guaranteed but are based on attendance. The above listed prizes are based on an attendance of 80 players. The more players the bigger the prizes! If there are 100+ players top 16 prizes will be awarded. Any questions feel free to ask Rob!

Sunday's are always bad for people that have to travel like the virginia crew, saturdays are much better.

If i could I would. Its too close to make a change to the event. And Sundays are bad if I want any out of town people to come.

It was announced four days ago. It's been too long to change the date? 'Cause (and this is not directed at you, Rob, but rather at the store) it's awful unkind to schedule an event the same day that another event that had been announced a full two weeks before was on.

I have already announced and advertised the event for the 18th on several sites. If I had known I really wouldn't have don it.

$1000 is assuming they get 80 people, something I wouldn't count on.

Standard is fun. There's so many good cards now. It prolly sounds strange but theres more playable cards in standard than legacy...

There's more cards available to play in legacy but less are playable. Legacy is getting pretty stale.

There are less palyable cards in legacy cause the best cards are so good everybody plays them. So something decent in standard will suck in legacy. That being said, of course standard has more playable cards, who cares. I don't think legacy is getting stale all by itself, it's that alot of players lack imagination and/or the balls to play some some random pile they made themselves. No matter what format you play it's all the same "let's copy!".
