Like the title says with the added hitch that I need to be protected in case the deal goes south and they try to wrongfully get a refund from paypal.

Thanks!

Fed-EX you get free delivery confirmation and if its over 50 get the signiture option

You also dont have as many custom's problems with fed ex and no way for them to claim it was lost

or you can do like I do and refuse to sell outside of the US on ebay

It's pretty damn hard to protect yourself from getting screwed when shipping internationally if they paid with PayPal. It's definitely not cheap.

If the total value is under $250 and you don't have delivery confirmation, you're screwed. If over $250 and you don't have a delivery signature, you're screwed.

If it gets stuck somewhere (like customs), just stuck - much less lost - and it's not insured, you're screwed.

Even if you have all of the above, there's some chance you get screwed anyway if there's a dispute, because PayPal is just that unfriendly to sellers.

I *think* International Priority Flat Rate Envelope + Registered might meet the above requirements, but I've never looked in to it enough to be sure.

I do know people that have been screwed by PayPal when they used First Class + Registered, even though Registered provides tracking and even I'm pretty sure signature upon delivery. At least part of the problem is Registered First Class is slow.

The extra speed of Priority might be enough to make Registered work.

Intl Priority Flat Rate is $12.95, Registered is $10.80+ (depending on value), = ~$25.

You can try one of the guaranteed services from UPS or Fedex, but those run $80+.

Or you could do what dacmai advocates (iirc from the eBay thread) and just don't bother trying to protect yourself from PayPal. This is more risky depending on how high the risk of fraud on the items is, of course (higher value = higher risk of euro fraudsters).

I've been selling with eBay+PayPal for ~10 years and I still don't know if there's a way to ship internationally PayPal considers "safe" enough that they won't screw you in a dispute. In the unlikely case someone actually knows, fill me in.

As you can see from my auctions, I'm currently trying out just not accepting PayPal for international orders. I don't like it, but I'll see how it works out.

I understand shipping EMS is the only way you have protection from disputes.
