View Full Version : Replenish and Energy Field
If I cast Replenish with no enchantments in play and a single Energy Field in my graveyard, does Energy Field trigger off Replenish going to the graveyard?

This is true. It is worth noting that if both Wheel of Sun and Moon AND Energy Field are returned to play by Replenishment that Replenishment winds up on the bottom of your library instead of in your graveyard, assuming that you target enchant yourself with WoSaM's effect when it comes into play.

As no one is giving an explanation, I might as well.
When a spell resolves it does it's thing and afterwards it goes to the graveyard. This means that Replenish is on the stack, enchantments are put into play and after that the Replenish will go to the graveyard. Energy Field is already in play when this happens so it will trigger.
If you look at some people play a Thirst for Knowledge, Fact or Fiction and the likes, you will notice they put the spell in front of them, throw the cards from the spell in the graveyard and then the card itself on top of it.
I'm aware that the last thing that happens is that it goes into the graveyard, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't a layering process that gave the cards a simultaneous resolution of effects with a prescribed ordering. That is how I would intuitively read the interaction, but clearly that would be more complicated than it would need to be.
