Hi, I'm new of the source and I have restarted to play magic 2 months ago.
Next week I'm going to a local legacy tournament but i don't know very well this format and i don't know my meta.
So, I'll think to play a blueless deck (because in this moment i don't have a blue kernel) but what is the best deck?
I'm playing a lot of deck (therock,aggroloam,evagreen...) but I was fine with everyone and so I don't know which to choose.
What would you choose if you don't know the metagame?

tnx and sorry for my bad English:cry:

All the decks you listed are good, but I would chose AggroLoam because it has a pretty good matchup vs. everthing but combo. Eva Green is pretty strong all around but it is a little inconsistent, which frustrates me too much.

I'd go with Goblins, frankly. They're still able to brutalize any non-combo decks and Rb has some game against combo nowadays with Earwig Squad & SB, along with the possibility of packing some discard/stax components. The fact that combo nowadays might care about life doesn't hurt either.

But yeah, against all the Countertop trash, Goblins just throttle them. Obviously you need to build with the deck in mind, but achieving a clearly favourable match shouldn't even be a challenge. And while Engineered Plagues are around, it's nothing you can't win through, not to mention the wealth of anti-Plague SB options available.

Mostly the fact that Goblins are v. good against Counterbalance The Card and all the land destruction strategies in the format is why I'd gravitate towards it over all the other non-blue decks. Oh, and it's still the most unfair non-combo deck and steals the most wins.

So take Goblins, metagame as necessary and sport a good match-up against much of the metagame, and some kind of a game against all of it - seems like a solid plan (obviously you don't want to play against Aggro Loam, but even that's far from unbeatable).

I'll second Eldariel and say Goblins is the best choice. That deck takes very little thought to play decently (although playing it well requires some experience), and has a lot of positive matchups even when facing hate. With the sideboard, there probably isn't a single unwinnable matchup, although combo will take a lot of dedicated slots if you expect TES.

A deck like Truffle Shuffle could be nice if updated correctly. Lots of mass removal (Deed), the best targeted removal (Swords, Vindicate), Draw (Top, Witness, Harmonize, Tusker), discard (Hymn, Thoughtseize), and decent win cons (Haunting Echoes, Gigapede, Oona). I don't know how well it would all fit together though.

Black as a stand alone.

U/B deck suck without the G to back it up. I tried it and that is one of the worst color pairs in the format. Great in Vintage, but not here unless you have G.

Interesting...There are some lists of this deck?I read the Truffle Shuffle's Thread but there aren't lists made me enthusiastic...

I don't play goblins because i don't like it, I khow it's could be a best choise but if I play a deck that i don't like I finish to play it bad..

other ideas?

Any of the B/x Dark Ritual decks (the ones that use it to power out Hymns to Tourach rather than team with Lion's Eye Diamonds) are going to be very good for awhile. They're not unbeatable, but they're very solid.

I think you may be better off looking for something that you like then. There's a whole slew of competitive and semi-competitive stuff out there.
