EDIT: Prize right now consists of a DCI Spiritmonger, a Tarmogoyf, and a Wasteland. If anyone wants to volunteer something, please do so soon. I'll hash out the exact prize structure by round 3.

To avoid problems later on, "Ordered pairing" allows you to manually pair players. In DCI-Reporter 2.9x, it's under the "Perform" menu.
EDIT: I've PM'd you stuff that may help.

B0W53R lost his last match, A_Z. I know this because I am playing his opponent.

B0W53R
04-13-2009, 01:46 PM
Yeah, I lost 1-2.
Pinder
04-13-2009, 01:53 PM
So we're re-pairing?
stuckpixel
04-13-2009, 02:49 PM
Would appear so. Not terribly surprised considering I was 2-0 round 1, and was matched up with a 1-2 at table 2.
Hopefully they'll be up soon.
Eldariel
04-13-2009, 04:02 PM
Luckily I didn't get to play yet. Thanks for the quick repair - woulda been a pain if half the round had already been played.
TheBirdMan
04-13-2009, 04:22 PM
Im sure emidln dropped from the tournament at round 1.
emidln
04-13-2009, 04:23 PM
When we repair can I be dropped for real this time? Thanks.
Paradigm Shift
04-13-2009, 06:53 PM
I beat TheBirdMan 2-0, he had some pretty bad hands/draws :(
nitewolf9
04-13-2009, 08:21 PM
Forbiddian gets the match 2 - 0. I drop as well. I've had my fill of Negator, out of my system now.

Forbiddian 2-0 vs. Nitewolf9
Melman

Melman 2-0 Vs Kuma, Match #11

Van Phanel

I beat DeathScythe 2-0.
Strange games.
I won game 1, had everything looking good in G2 then we got a "Session Lost: Disconnected" when I was winning and in our replayed game he had to mulligan to five.
Screw MWS.

So... I assume Joe_C wins 2-0.

Are you sure my opponent is "heriocraptor"? Because I just searched the entire site, and this is the only thread in which that name appears. It's also not in the original signup thread.

My deck decided to take a dump on me. crz87 wins 2-0 vs. Eldariel
stuckpixel
04-14-2009, 10:52 PM
stuckpixel defeats puppektion 2-0.
Shuffler reared it's head both games.
jakolhops
04-14-2009, 11:51 PM
Jakolhops wins over Giles
2-1
Very close match (few DC here and there, but wow was that close)
Giles
04-14-2009, 11:53 PM
I went: lost in three.
I want to publicly thank jakolhops for his patience. Since we had to play five games to do it.
puppektion
04-15-2009, 12:34 AM
stuckpixel defeats puppektion 2-0.
Shuffler reared it's head both games.
Confirmed. As it's been said before "before any deck, *my* deck's greatest weakness is the MWS shuffler:tongue:"
Regardless, it was a good match, and I wish stuckpixel best of luck in the rest of the tourney.

Confirming to Eldariel: I beat Eldariel 2-0. He got unlucky and drew into too little threats, and I think it was a bad MU for him against mine, especially when I drew well and had the right answers at the right time.

Sry for the spam but I'm really annoyed by all of you guys dropping out :frown:
-
I don't see how spending one hour, playing your favorite game, once in 5 days (120hs) is asked too much.
I mean it's really up to you and I surely don't wanna be that guy, it's just that I don't get it...

Here let me explain my scedual...
Work 10-8 all this week.
Leave for Mexico Friday morning (11am-1pmish)
Sunday night come back from Mexico
Monday morning, pack car.
Monday afternoon, drive to NorCal to visit sister.
Return home Thursday night.
Work 11-8 Friday, and Saturday.
Help sister with Gold Award Project 10-6 Sunday.
Monday onwards work.
jthanatos
04-15-2009, 08:56 PM
Jthanatos wins over mujadaddy 2-1 in about 80 games. MWS seems to hate us both. Good games with him, and he was a good sport about it.

Confirm, 2-1, jthanatos > mujadaddy.

Drops should count as 2-0 otherwise people dropping will just resign first, report 2-0, and drop by the next round. There's no way to stop it.

Drops should count as 2-0 otherwise people dropping will just resign first, report 2-0, and drop by the next round. There's no way to stop it.Sure there is. It should count as a bye for the staying player, but not as VICTORIES.

This is how a real tourny works. After round 2 tons of people drop, so it's just like a real tourny, stob bitching cause you didn't get lucky to get a free 2-0 win.
Also remember, it screws the breakers of people that get it, so it's not that good.

Im not bitching cause I didn't get a free win, I'm bitching because I may now have to play fewer games. I joined this tournament to play magic, not to play 2 (exaggeration) rounds and enter the finals =/.
But regardless, if you (everyone) truly can't swing it, fine. If you can, please do. That's all.

TheInfamousBearAssassin
04-16-2009, 12:26 AM
I beat Eldritch Alien 2-1
BKclassic
04-16-2009, 01:39 AM
I win, 2-0. Electrolyze is dropping.
With all players dropping, how many will it be til round 3?
Forbiddian
04-16-2009, 05:40 AM
FYI, everyone, there are still 30 tables after round 1.
It seems like ~1/10 people dropped. Considering that this tournament is a commitment over the next at least few weeks, it doesn't seem too unreasonable that some would decide to drop, especially given the timing/scheduling issues we've had.
pi4meterftw
04-16-2009, 10:32 AM
Sure there is. It should count as a bye for the staying player, but not as VICTORIES.
My point was that there's a way to circumvent this. Staying players will simply ask their opponent to stay an extra round. In fact, this would be even worse than just awarding the 2-0 win, since then you provide an incentive for dropping players to stay one extra round and get paired against one extra person before dropping. Supposing, in fact, that the same situation arises (I.e. two dropping people don't get paired), one would have the same situation again.

04-16-2009, 11:01 PM
I lose 2-1.
Confirming.
I beat Anusien 2-1
I've gotten no responses from my opponent, Zir. I really don't want to be forced into drawing because I haven't been given an opportunity to play my match. Would it be possible for me to play out against someone else in my position (assuming someone else can't reach their opponent)?
peace,

Something came up and i gotta drop out. I won't have internet for the next couple of weeks =(
Anyhow, i forfiet 0-2 to atwa.

Still no reply from Vstheworld. What happens in this scenario?
bowvamp
04-17-2009, 11:51 PM
How about playing 4eak vs. THEchubbymuffin? This would bridge the gap created by unresponsive players.
My only concern is that I am being paired down. If I'm not getting a bye for a no-show opponent, and there aren't 1-0's I can face, then I'd be happy to play THEchubbymuffin.
peace,
4eak
Pinder
04-18-2009, 04:40 AM
Nihil gets mana screwed in G1, I get mana flooded in game 2, then we settle down and play a real game of Magic, and he gets there.
Nihil wins 2-1 vs. Pinder
Nihil Credo
04-18-2009, 06:49 AM
Confirmed. And I agree that the part Pinder's bowels played in the match is best left unsaid.

This is pretty awesome, it'd be nice if we could regularly do tournaments, especially since I actually own the deck I'm playing but have no where to play it since neither my college campus (UCSD) nor my permanent home is near any legacy-hosting cardshop. It sucks pretty bad.
Maybe since a lot of people have dropped we can speed up the tournament to 3-4 days, but if not, perhaps in the future we should host tournaments in parallel, one fast and one slow so people can choose and don't drop all over the place. This would require more manpower, so I would be willing to occasionally host, though I have none of the software so I don't know if it'd be possible.
I didn't think I would recover in the first game, but I managed. The second game Zir got mana screwed. Other than that, his deck is very cool.
peace,
4eak
Eldariel wins 2-0.
Drop me.
