I was just wondering if anyone has ever made a deck based around white land control. using cards like limited resources to land lock people. I was just thinking it would be an interesting deck idea.

A guess: Not since they restricted Balance. Back-in-the-day, though, Balance was rightly feared.

Well i was trying to go for a bit more of a land destruction deck. But centered around white. I don't know if i want to splash a color yet.

Death and Taxes also has a farily strong land control element. I don't think that limited resources is strong enough for legacy though.

Five operating mana is a lot for aggro and aggro-control decks in this format. Landstill might be unhappy, but how are you going to win before they remove it?

Could be interesting paired with green though. Slap this down, drop Exploration, and start dumping lands. After it hits, you can have more than 5 lands, just no more than 10 total. So you get 7-8 lands (while destroying theirs) and they are in a pinch.

That is kind of what i wanted to do. I was just wondering if anyone had made a deck like that before.

I doubt a deck built around Limited Resources would let Landstill actually sit on five lands. I imagine the gameplan would be something akin to acccelerating out as many lands as possible while destroying theirs, so that when Resources actually comes down you get the lion's share of the 10 land between you. Couple this with further lando, ways to sneak lands into play without playing them, and perhaps artifact mana, and you should be able to operate with a significant advantage over the guy who has 2 lands to your 8.

Not sure if that's really viable, but it's how I'd do it.

While the idea is interesting, most decks already do something with 1 land, are pretty strong with only 2 lands, and go nuts with 3 lands. I'm affraid this strategy is too slow to stop a format crowded with decks that don't depend on 4 or more lands. As said before, only heavy control decks like MUC and Landstill require alot of land, but since they're control, they probably won't let you have it.

I was playing 3 player EDH the other day, and the guy who went first went second turn Rampant Growth, Limited Resources. It was ugly. We took like 45 damage between the two of us before I found some Signets and Tainted Pact for a Deed. Turns out Limited Resources is banned in EDH.

Anyways, for Legacy? Exploration and Life from the Loam sound like a good pair, so you can drop a Wasteland and another land every turn until ten lands are in play.

Limited Resources is normally banned in EDH, isn't it?
