That would've been awesome, but I don't think that WotC would intentionally print a 2cc, Instant speed spell that destroys anything. That'd be so overpowered in Limited/Constructed.

This would be retardly stupid and over powered by a lot. So much better than sinkhole and vindicate. Even if you added another mana and made it sorcery it will still be overpowered being able to wipe out a horde of basic lands.

That is a sole member of 3cc LD, and is very marginal at best. Non-Symmetric 2cc LD is somthing they have never done since Sinkhole. Doing it, and making it into vindicate on crack while we're at it? Dunno.

If you play ~ outside your main phase, as an additional cost to cast it pay X life where X=CMC of the target permanent....? That makes it the exact same, except you can pay life to cast it as an Instant :smile:

The card which was spoiled is perfectly fine the way it is. Not inferior to vindicate, but with an ability that is situational enough to make vindicate the better card most of the time. I don't understand why some people complain about power creep on one hand but criticise a card for not being as good as vindicate on the other. Vindicate, just about the best all-round removal spell ever. That vindicate.

I like Maelstrom Pulse. The BG makes it so you don't have to play white, arguably the weakest color in Legacy right now.

It doesn't destroy lands, but it also has the situationally useful Echo effect. When you get it to work with the Echo, it pays of hugely.

I think Maelstrom Pulse is fine the way it is. It is legacy playable which says that the card is already at a high power level. If you made this card any better it would be broken which is why I do not understand why people are trying to "improve" it. I think it is at a very good power level for legacy; it will see some play but is far form an auto-include like goyf.

The only thing I kind of whish was different is if it only hit your oppoenents stuff. I think the single most common card this will hit will be tarmogyf, and I also think that the single most common non-land card run along side this will be tarmogofy. For this reason I think it is not quite as good as Vindicate, even in a deck that will rarely destroy a land with vindicate.
