I have this unhealthy obsession with Tarmogoyfs.

Everytime I play for the first time in a game, I say something along the lines of "omg, IT'S TARMOGOYF!"

Is there something wrong with me?

I love it when my opponents play a Tarmogoyf and act like the grand mastery of their deck has come together with a single play that will seal the game.

Then I tap two lands for a B and a R and Terminate the Tarmogoyf.

I love the abject look of crushed hopes and dreams mixed with fear and sadness in their eyes as they put it in the graveyard.

Nice pickup, 80 is a decent deal these days. I sold mine for 80 just as they were rotating and I'm kicking myself because of it.

P.S. Is it wrong that Tarmogoyf is one of my favorite creatures? :P

I have this vision of Mark Rosewater sitting in a darkened cubicle at midnight in WotC HQ, reading a report on the state of Standard and how green has fallen once more out of common use. An aide walks up to recieve his orders, and all MaRo says is...

"It is time."

At that rate you may as well as quote Saffi Eriksdotter by saying "Ach! Hans, run! Its the Lhurgoyf!" I mean how fitting is it that the generally accepted best creature in magic is a green lhurgoyf?

I've got mine Tarmogoyfs for about 8 USD. I bought them few days after FUT came out. Everybody laughed at me when I said that it looks like a new Terravore...

Then I lend them to my friend. And someone stole them from his bag while he was crossing the city in the night-tram.

Now I got three Tarmogoyfs. They cost him 70 USD... :frown:

I sold all my magic two years ago, including the 4 Goyfs I had (and got for 10 bucks total); now I really, really want to play UG again (like I always have) but I'm going to have to go all in on teh Goyf. Now that that amazingly hot scarcely clothed blonde temptress that is Lorescale Coatl is winking at me, there's no way back.

Back to Thresh.

Goddamn Goyf, for years I was able to play without you!

I sold all my duals and my goyf's right before I got married last year. Havent looked back... Still playing using decks that dont run either and still putting up a fight against decks that do.......

Are you insinuating that your wife is sexier than the Coatl?

Seriously though, I tried that too. I played Dragonstompy for a while, got close to Top8's all the time (came in ninth like 3 times in a row), tried Ichorid with which I had decent results, now I'm at Dreadstill (got the Noughts cheap) and it's a blast, but Coatl is so sexy, I want to get back into UG. UG without Goyf is just strange, I'd have to run Dryad, and she sucks so much I'd be better of playing Dreadstill

Well, I can't put my dick in the Coatl... So yeah....
( you find a way to have sex with magic cards and I am sure you will open new doors for many people in the world to explore )

Step 1: Cut a hole in a Coatl
Step 2: Put your junk in the Coatl
Step 3: Have so fun!

And that's the way you do it.

Since both of the local card shops went out of business the player base has been quitting magic, so everyone know I will buy collections. After buying 12 or 13 collections in the last 3 months I have ended up with 20+ goyfs and get happy everything i get a $100 bill for a set considering I originally paid $3 each for them and actually got 1 free for buying 3 of them.

I thank my grandfather for leaving me enough money to just buy what I want when I want to.

I got mine for about $12 Canadian because I saw a 3/4 for two in a type two environment that would only get bigger.

The average MtG player tends to be bad at assessing the quality of cards when they are initially released. Early bird gets the worm[for cheap], bitches.

The same thing happened with Cursed Scrolls, Masticores and Morphlings for me, though morphling just sort of happened when I got boxes of Saga. The stack turned them into beasts and I just never really got around to trading any of my morphs before sixth ed hit.

Oh Christ, not every thread needs to be about Tarmogoyf. Besides, we have Coat-tail to talk about now.
