Ok, first I'd like to say I haven't tested the deck. This is now just an idea that has been floating somewhere in my head lately. I'd like to get some opinions/suggestions from you guys.
To make long story short: I've always loved the idea of playing hand disruption and countermagic in one deck. I mean thoughtseize and FoW are both great cards and they get even more ridiculous when paired together. Anyway, there's my idea(or just a rough sketch) of strongly disruptive fish.dec:
4x Tidehollow Sculler
4x Bob
3x Meddling Mage
3x Jotun Grunt
4x FoW
4x Daze
3x Spell Snare
4x Thoughtseize
4x StP
3x Vindicate
4x Brainstorm
2x Ponder
3x Underground Sea
4x Tundra
2x Scrubland
4x Flooded Strand
2x Polluted Delta
1x Island
1x Plains
1x Swamp
Ok, obviousness first: T. Sculler and Thoughtseize are there to disrupt your opp while also make sure you use your countermagic optimally(knowing your opponent's hand is good). I guess(just guess) they also make Meddling Mage a viable MD option. Besides situations where you already know what your opponent is playing and the call would be obvious, you can always just look at their hand and lock one of the spells which you might otherwise have to counter(sorry if I'm not making myself clear enough;p).
Stp, Bob and cantrips are there, well you all know what for. And Vindicate to deal with anything the rest didn't manage to deal with.
Ok, there's the real problem. The disruption package seems pretty nice (on paper) but I'm afraid the deck could easily run out of gas or simply scoop to aggresive aggro bacause it lacks fat.
My first idea was Jotun Grunt. A lovely fat beatstick with really useful ability but he seems too much like temporary solution and that doesn't seem good considering he's the only real threat in this deck.
Another idea was Tombstalker. I just don't see those two together;p
What do you guys think? Is it worth to sacrifice MD graveyard hate for a better(and possibly permanent) threat? Or do you have any other ideas for that?
It's not very likely that I'm gonna build this deck in the nearest future(unless I happen to find a set of U.Seas somewhere on the street). Until that happens, I'll appreciate all your opinions on this deck.
