This may seem dumb, but its been confusing me - in particular today, where it made an issue.
If the stack is resolving, can you then play a instant spell onto the stack?
i.e I play [cardname]. They respond with Force of Will, and then I Force of Will their Force. Cunning Wish is played. I let the stack resolve.
As Wish resolves, they take a Counterspell. Can they then play the Counterspell from their hand against my Force of Will, even though the stack has already begun to resolve?
I was told that the answer is yes, but I'm just making sure.

Lets say the stack looks like this:
Force of Will (Top)
Fireblast
Spell Snare
Magma Jet
Counterspell
Lightning Bolt (Bottom)
How it works is like this. I am the red deck, and your the blue. Lets say I have no responce to Force Of Will (but mana open and cards in hand) I pass priorty. You have everything countered, so you pass.
Force of Will resolves. Nothing can happen.
Once Force is done resolving, the stack looks as such:
Spell Snare (top)
Magma Jet
Counterspell
Bolt (bottom)
I now have priorty again. I can play instants or ability's, or pass priorty. If i pass, and you pass Spell Snare resolves, or you can say Cunning Wish and play a spell wished for. If i wana play a spell, it gets added to the stack, and I gain priorty again. If i pass again, you can now respond to the new spell/ability.

Okay, thanks. Cleared it up.

You have to remember it's not the stack that resolves. It resolves 1 spell, ability or triggered effect at a time. And that's the beauty of it

I apologize for not having time to fully explain it. I had to get to the store before 1.2 off chinese food. Broke college student syndrome, +girlfriend was getting irritated. She walked in as I decree'd for 2 tokens and attacked, how heartbreaking.
