Can Wake Thrasher's ability be Stifled?

The act of untapping a permanent on your side triggers Wake Trashers ability of:
Oracle text: Whenever a permanent you control becomes untapped, Wake Thrasher gets +1/+1 until end of turn.

The word "Whenever" almost always constitutes a triggered ability.

Stifle says:
Oracle text: Counter target activated or triggered ability.

So, yes, you can stifle one instance of his ability but to stop all of his pumps you have to stifle each ability one at a time.

The word whenever always constitutes a triggered ability.

Things that can be Stifled:

1. Anything beginning with "When."
2. Anything beginning with "Whenever."
3. Anything beginning with "At."
4. Anything with a ":" in it.

Exceptions being if any of the above produce mana.

That said, Wake Thrasher actually triggers once for every untapping of a permanent, so Stifle's only going to stop +1/+1 worth. Unless you're running the ever awesome Stifle/Radiate combo.

Ok, thanks. I guess I should reword my question. I knew it could be Stifled, but can it be Stifled when it triggers on the untap step? I thought that one couldn't play spells or abilities during the untap step.

302.3. No player receives priority during the untap step, so no spells or abilities can be played or resolved. Any ability that triggers during this step will be held until the next time a player would receive priority, which is usually during the upkeep step. (See rule 303, "Upkeep Step.")

Only Activated Abilities that produce mana can't be stifled. Triggers that produce mana can be stifled.

That's odd. So if i control a Wakethrasher and a Dark Confidant.
Untap some stuff.
go into upkeep....

what happens first? are wakethrasher's triggers put on the stack before the "beggining of upkeep" or is it all the same time and i get to choose how to stack them?
Say i know Bob is gonna kill me and i need wakethrasher to get bigger so i can swords my own guy to gain enough life to live....

Triggers go on the stack when someone would recieve priority. For both "untap" triggers and "beginning of upkeep" triggers, that is during upkeep. Since they're being put on the stack at the same time, you get to order them.

Only Activated Abilities that produce mana can't be stifled. Triggers that produce mana can be stifled. Wrong. Mana abilities can't be stifled and mana abilities can be triggered abilities. (Wild Growth, High Tide, ...)
