There is no point in playing Niv-Mizzet + curiosity, when Painter's Servant + Grindstone exists. Both are two card combos, but Painter/Stone is simply better in all ways (Except maybe price of cards, but hey).

Neither of them are artifacts, so the combo can't be shattered. Mizzet is a decent creature who can start attacking on his own without the combo. You can't Pithing needle Mizzet. Gaea's Blessing's got nothing on Mizzet. Lightning Bolt won't stop Mizzet fo' shizzet.
