Since Themanadrain.com is obviously the source for vintage, and the source is obviously the source for legacy, what are the equivalents for Limited, standard, extended, and others? I am really interested in whatever the limited equivalent (specifically draft) would be, but it would be interesting to know all the others as well.
Sorry if this thread isn't in the right place, it didn't seem to me like it would fit in mish-mash though.

For everything except Vintage & Legacy, I'd check out forums.gleemax.com.

Star city games has standard and limited grasped firmly by the nuts. I'd check there first for articles and news.

Problem with Starcity is that it has the whole premium thing. It doesn't matter to me if I can read all about drafting lorwyn block (for example) by the time Zendikar comes out. Are there any other websites or does the free articles at Starcity cover most of the good stuff?

The free articles cover most of what you want to know. The reason that they charge money for some articles is because popular players write them, and they have little groupies who hang on their every word.
The term you're looking for is barns. As in barnicles. You know... those things that attach themselves to whales.

Or hulls.
@ OP. To my knowledge, I'm not aware of any TMD or MTS equivalent for T2, 1.x, Block, etc. It's probably restricted team forums and mailing lists. Probably because there's no community identity around those format; rather a lot of people who play them. And it's the community that keeps TMD and MTS alive and interesting.

For Standard and Extended I prefer the forums at mtgsalvation (http://mtgsalvation.com/). For limited the best place you could probably go are one of the many draftblogger sites out there such as Draftbetter.com (http://draftbetter.com/) or simply read the "Limited Information (http://wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Archive.aspx?tag=limitedinformation&description=Limited%20Information)" column and wizards.com/magic (http://wizards.com/Magic/Multiverse/). I'm not really aware of any strong limited based communities and I think this has a lot to do with the format itself.

Block, Standard, Limited and even Extended change at a much quicker pace than the Eternal formats. There's also a lot more incentive to win, via GPs and Pro Tours.
Hence, most good tech doesn't become widely known until it's old tech. Plus what's good today might not matter a month or two from now. So just read articles.

Don't you worry about Standard and Extended, let me worry about [blank].

http://pdcmagic.com/, your official source for Pauper Magic and the Pauper Deck Challenge.
It's a very inexpensive format and a lot of fun. The decks are also much faster that you might expect.
