Wow. I'll have to order 4. Insane! Foil Petals! Foil Lackey! And butt-ugly art on Berserk
By the way, is it me, or does the FtV:E logo look like the rebel logo?

35$ big chance it'll be highered in a lot of shops. Almost seems worth it to get 4 copies for the lackeys, berserks, petals, mystical tutors and trinispheres but I know I won't build decks with them anyway. I'm fairly sure you can make money with this but it just doesn't seem worth the trouble for me.

Pretty sick. This is the first FTV I think I will try and buy.

The card list looks sweet. I hope they aren't going to foil them using the same process they used for the Dragons...I can't straighten my cards. :(

I think it was supposed to be the same foiling process...
As much as the old is an untouchable classic, I love the new Necro art. And i'm excited about the number of Legacy staples, all things considered. People were worried this was going to be really lame, and they would cop out, but they brought a lot of good cards to the table.

Well yeah, I hope I'm going to be able to get it. Cause I really want it, but I'm not rich, nor am I going to drive around the country for it.

Haha, seems really high, but wouldn't surprise me. Think about it... Berserk? How many of those are running around? People are going to charge the shit out of these.

These will certainly be worth MUCH more individually than the package at retail will cost.

If you can find said pack at $35. I don't doubt this set will go upwards from $60... if you can find one that isn't snatched up yet.

In every format they would normally be, yea.

Foil Necropotence makes me happy in pants. Except foils get all bendy, which is why I won't be playing with these.
And I'm pretty sure that the only reason they put Berserk in here was to represent Green. Personally I would've preferred Disciple of the Vault or Mind's Desire.

I'm glad to see berserk rather than other things just because it's hard to find them.

I just looked at the foils and i Jizzed......in....my...pants.
$200 or no, still gonna get one.
Yeah, the only thing on that list I want are the Berserks. But considering the price they fetch now, what reasonable price can Wizards set on these packs? I am thinking that it is possible that after 2 years, the prices for original Berserks might slide down quite a bit from the market seeing so many new ones.
I am very interested in what comes of this. Heh. Berserk. Notably NOT on the reserved list. And I bet you that if it is a hot item, Force of Will is getting reprinted in this fashion soon after.
Also,
Sinkhole
Karakas
Sea Drake
Reset
Chain Lightning
Maze of Ith
etc.
Actually, are any of these ON the list. I just figured they are not because they are not rare.

Note that Berserk and many of the cards you mentioned were once on the reserved list. It's just that years ago, they took off ALL UNCOMMON cards from the reserved list with the excuse that they wanted to reprint Regrowth. I'm still waiting for that Regrowth reprint. They should have made an exception with the dual lands, too, but they are afraid of touching anything having that they are the money currency in eternal formats.
I want this lot so bad; I hope I can pick at least one for 50€ or less.

There's been a DCI foil regrowth out for a few years...

wow i am kinda excited i already preordered 4 and have options on 4 more when they come in at msrp
All I really want out of these are Lackey and petal a tutor will make it into my Solidarity deck.
Maze of Ith
Maze was released as a judge foil at PT Honolulu.
Wizards is going to be pushing the line as far as what they release as promo foils, but there is a lot of resistance within WotC to foiling high-value out of print staples like Force of Will.

You mean like Berserk? I was pricing some on eBay for a deck I wanted to take to GP-Chicago, and even white-bordered ones were often going for $90 each or $300+ per playset.
Also, that Lotus Petal is a dead sexy foil. I might buy one of these just for that.
Berserk is not a staple. Not even remotely close. Berserk is exactly the sort of card that's going to get promo-ed - where the rarity and collectibility is driving the price more than playability.

I just preordered one of these at the store, go me!
What's stupid though is what the guy working at the store told me, "Now we've never sold anything above retail before, but with this set Wizard's is almost forcing us to." Oh Wizard's doing this to the stores.

Yea a local store tried that here after I got my pre-orders paid for. They called me up today and tried to say that the distributor raised the prices on them so that i was going to have to pay more or they were going to have to refund me. They did not realize I work in a shop on weekends, so i called the distributor today and talked to them. The store is not getting charged anymore then we were. So I called them back and told them they either were going to honor there contractual obligation for the price or I was not only going to report it to the BBB I was going to take it to my lawyer, and told the owner whats worth more the customer or the bad press to them. We live in a small area and what little business they still get is just barely keeping them afloat. (the one where I work I own the building, it used to be the pharmacy next to the grocery store I own. So as long as we make the electric bill we are doing good.)
What I don't understand is how do stores think that charging more for these items is going to help them. In the long run it is just going to hurt business.

If it's the only place people can buy it, they will pay what the store charges.

i don't think my point was understood by gauging what little customer base this local store has the extra 200 or so they make is not going to be offset by the thousands in lost revenue by customers going other places to purchase items
