View Full Version : Elspeth was a misprint right?

She was supposed to be:

+1: Put a 1/1 white solder token onto the battlefield.

-1: Target creature gets +3/+3 and gains flying until end of turn.

-8: For the rest of the game, artifacts, creatures, enchantments, and lands you control are indestructible.

That's what makes sense right? A giant growth and flight every turn on the way to the ultimate is broken, right?

I was looking at her today and realized that she is the only planeswalker that does not have a negative loyalty ability before the ultimate. That has to be a misprint.

She'd suck even more then.

Yeah, and Tarmogoyf would suck more if he, uh, sucked more.

Elspeth's one of what, three planeswalkers to see play in Legacy? And she sees loads more play than Jace and Garruck. She's the best one so far.

She'd probably still be fine if the second one said minus one, because if you're racing, you aren't as likely to need the game ending "my tokens never die, and I make them every turn" play. But both giving +1 Loyalty is pretty sick.

Nope. They like to play around with everything they can about card types, and giving a planeswalker two +1 abilities is one of the ways that they can do that.

Quite possibly the stupidest thread on MTS.

Heresy! Cavi...MTG-Fan hasn't posted here yet, or Troopadope, or Clark Can't, until then the thread can't possibly make the top 10. Both Ajani & Elspeth are very good and I am betting that this is in support of upgrading the weakest color in Magic (for some time....). It certainly has had that effect in Standard & Extended and has helped in Legacy. It will be interesting to see if M10 has a Legacy impact along with the previous year or two of decent white.
