So I do mtgo beta testing from time to time. Currently testing for ME3 which is master's edition 3. Contains such awesomeness as mana drain, enemy duals, bazaar... so on anyway, I was doing a draft and my opponent had 240 cards in his deck. I'm like wtf you only get 45 cards to build your deck with. Like 10 turns into the game he casts BATTLE OF WITTS. WTF. I had to share this with a group of people that might actually understand the savageness of losing to battle of witts in a draft.

FYI: The drafter adds random cards into the draft pool. Battle of Witts is not in ME3.

Edit: Before screen shot or it didn't happen. I forgot to screen shot it. Fail on my part.

That's pretty hilarious. No worries about the pic though, I'm guessing he looked something like your avatar.

That's some funny shit. I assume his deck had like 200 basic land in it? Battle is still better than the Didgeridoos I keep getting passed.

Every ME3 draft I've done so far has been decided by a bug  The most recent was my inability to kill a Nicol Bolas with Dance of Many because Dance doesn't fucking work. Good times.

And am I the only one who hates the beta draft packs? They suck massive balls at testing interactions in the set. Most of the games I play involve each player dropping less than 5 ME3 cards each.

Random aside, I'm really psyched about unleashing Chain Lighting in PDC, as well as the arrival of Kobold/Clamp for Classic.

I know what you mean in terms of the draft packs sucking. Every pack has a dual land and don't get me wrong its nice to be able to fix your mana but for god sakes we also want the abyss in some of our packs. If you need a wrath effect, use kjeldran frostbeast, he's broken and at the end of the turn you play him he sends every creature to the graveyard whether they blocked or not. It completely hosed me in one game to the point where I lost like 4 dudes.

Edit: Ichorid just became the best deck in the classic format, ty bazaar.

Too true about Ichorid. I have the Bazaar-less version that is totally sick online already, and I'll be glad to drop crap like LED for something much more vicious. I'll also enjoy brutally raping the douche bags who paid upwards of 70 bucks each for FoW (and use it in the casual room at that). Competitive classic is really lame on MtGO, and the ME sets don't really make it any better since the card are absurdly priced so quickly. In a lot of ways, it's a more broken format than Vintage.

I'm sure the prices will go down a little bit as they release more product. I heard the fetch lands have officially tanked on mtgo so maybe I can pick up some.

This might sound unbelievable, but I have actually witnessed this first-hand a number of years ago. During (edited:) Odyssey block someone actually tried this at a FNM booster draft. The madman played against my friend. He had about 200 basic land in the deck and somehow actually managed to cast Battle of Wits. My friend counterspelled it, but it was a good try.

That'd probably be Oddysey block.
