hey any idea what the final retail price for the exiled from the vault will sell for? all i keep hearing when i ask people is speculation based on ebay prices from the gencon prereleases.

To buy each card individually from Star City Games would be 237 bucks before tax and rounding each .99 to 1 and .49 to .5 (unless I made a mistake in my addition).
I don't know how that would translate to buying a sealed set somewhere else, though.

Honestly, I think that this set is really going to vary widely where you get it. At some places it's going to be incredibly expensive, but at others you might get lucky and it'll be cheaper. Well, that is if you can find a copy to begin with. One thing is for certain: The individual pieces will cost you more than the getting the whole box.

MSRP is $35, so if you can get it for that price from a retailer (doubtful now though) do it. Beside that, I expect it to vary wildly depending on where and how desperate people are; I consider myself lucky that I am getting a few from my local store at MSRP.

I did buy it now for 88.88 free shipping the next day the seller changed the price to 94.44 so who knows what the final price will be but 88.88 is pretty win.

One of the stores in Madison, WI was selling them for MSRP but they only were going to get 6 and are all sold out now. The other 2 stores are limiting the FTV: Exiled to 1 per person and $100 a piece :frown:
Does anyone know if random retail stores like Wal Mart or Target will be getting FTV? I had overheard that a Barnes &Noble from somewhere (unsure where) was getting the set.
FTV:E had to be allocated by a Core or Advanced TO. Generally only stores that run tournaments would get them, and then only the biggest stores will be getting more than 6.

My local store is getting 20+ and another store is also getting 20 + from the first stores other TO. I have a confirmed 4 pre orders coming to me plus 2 from gencon thanks to a friend of the wife's. plus I have an option on 4 more but I dont think I will be able to get them at retail.
I plan on breaking 4 sets open just to have a playset of each of the cards and using the other 2 as prizes for tournaments.

I picked mine up for around $90. I think if you get a better deal than that you're doing pretty well.

My local store said they'd get 'more than enough' and are selling for retail price so I ordered 2 :)

so thats the official retail price if you get it from retailers that are enforced? (i mean stuff like walmarts or target) vs from a card store/comic store? (i'm doubtful wizards is sending any to mass retailers like walmarts though)

My retailer tried to make me pay 120€ for one, so I will have to buy overseas or just some singles. :/

i may have to do the same, part of me just wants to finish my set of berserks

it was 70$ or so (60€) here in my shop, but everything was sold 2.5 weeks a go. WotC should do something good for our community (because Legacy needs it), but if they try to do it like this it is really silly. 90% of the people in need of the cards have no chanche of getting any.

My initial plan was to try to buy some from three different internet stores I found out would have some.
I could get one for 140 $ on the first website.
The second website still hasn't put any on sale.
The third website's prices were... 160 €. That's right.
What is making my day is that the 160 € ones are not selling. I spotted them being on sale at around noon GMT (there were four) and was massively upset with the overinflated price and just chose I wouldn't pay that.
Then, at 5 pm, maybe seeing how they were not selling, the vendor sent an additional email to all the customers that had asked to be notified when it would be in stock, saying how they had 4 in stock, it would be limited, and there were 135 people total that had been sent this mail (so you should be quick).
It's now 7:30 pm, and there are still 4 in stock. I'm overly glad everybody also chose to give them a good finger and ignore such a ridiculous price.

Gotta get lucky.
Went around to 2 shops this morning and grabbed 2 sets at MSRP. I'm contemplating whether to open these (and use the Tops & Tutors) or sell :really:

Lucky bastards.
Not that I tried my best at all, but I didn't find any preordering for it.

I've seen them being sold from $75 to $200. with the average being $99 free shipping. there are so many copies floating about that the prices have started to drop on them already due to the competition.

I've seen online listings anywhere from ~ $70 to ~ $140
Still in the process of checking with the FLGS, see if they have any.
They'd probably be cheaper, but can't say for sure yet (and even if they were just comparable in price, I'd still probably just get it there - though I can't afford to get everything there, I do believe in giving them *some* business. :)

Preordered it at MSRP from my local shop and picked it up today at no additional cost :)
Props to my local gaming store. Now to store away my From the Vault for a few years and let it grow in value.
I picked one up for $75 yesterday. I'm really disheartened that the shop keeper checked ebay first to determine how much to sell it for. If his goal is maximum profit - then ebay them - why even tease the patrons by putting (just one) on the shelves and stowing the rest of them in a lock cabinet.
I snuck a peak, and it looked like he had about 6-8 of them in stock.
Greedy fucking bastards.

yeah, my shop is the same. they said that they were getting them but then got real quiet about it. they knew the cards in it would be worth money, so they just kind of blew it off. Im sure they are going to put them directly onto ebay with maybe 1 or 2 copies in shop at some insanely inflated price as usual.

Starcity is buying them at $100.00 cash. I am assuming they are just opening them all for the singles. You really cant blame retailers for checking into pricing. It would be foolish to let them go at retail price, unless they had loyal customers preorder them.

I picked up my 4 at MSRP and had 2 other I had gotten from gencon I am using 2 sealed and most likely most of 2 other sets as prizes.
AT FNM tonight a person live auctioned one off for over $200 in legacy staples (2 NMunderground seas, 4 NM FOWs and something else small I think it was a bob or something)

starcity had there berserk at 40 bucks which seemed a little under priced for what the boxes are going for. by no means am i complaining about a 40 dollar berserk.

Shit.
Some people have actually started buying it at that ridiculous price (for you dollar fans, that would be ~230 $). 2 of the 4 listed are now gone.
It's seriously pissing me off that this store is going to get away with it. I wouldn't mind them making some money out of it (hey, it's their job), but they're selling it at FIVE TIMES what Wizards charged them. You can find them on ebay for half that price ! Even other internet shops don't dare go over 100 € (or 140 $).

Just think of it as Wizard's trying to give some love to B&M stores, since B&M stores are constantly undercut for booster box prices on the internet.
And frankly, I don't see what the fuss is about. If you want the cards that badly, don't complain about the price. But personally, I haven't thought about building a deck with Berserks or Goblin Lackeys in a while.

Well, I also get angry when shops sell fruit and vegetables at 1000% the price they bought them from the farmers, a fact that made the news last year. So if any, I'm just being coherent with my views. In this case, I can't even get the product directly from WotC.

I bought mine for $35, but that was because I helped out the store when he had a heart attack. He would let me buy them at $80 for other people if anyone is interested. He has 22 left. Surprising for such a small store, but we have huge turnouts.
It seems on Ebay you're going to pay $90 but who knows how long that is going to stay that way. I would expect it stays up there just from the sheer fact that the Dragons set is close to that number and it's been a while now ($75). I would expect it to level out at $80, slightly higher than the Dragons one. It's better for the sheer fact of having those two cards that are driving it. Lotus Petal and Mystical Tutor are big shit to us Legacy and Vintage players. Having a decently cheap Foil Trinisphere is just gravy. Berzerk is cool and all, but we all know it's lost it's appeal short of tabletop.
I saw Starcity paying $100 at first for them and they lowered it down to $75 buying price within a couple of weeks so I expect it will end up at $80 because of the combining factors.
I'm usually correct if you trust me. Up to you what you think it's worth in the end though. I plan to sit on my 4 and see.

Just a head ups to those of you who have gotten a box of the FTV:E, the berserk is selling for 35 buy it now so if you are looking to make back some of the money you paid for the box that is the best card to sell.

Wizards sells it to stores for $15, msrp is $35, so when I see stores that are jacking the price up to $100 or more I find it absolutely ridiculous. Why would I ever buy from my local stores if they are going to pull this bs? I'll just stick with ebay, motl, and online stores which are cheaper than b+m stores.

I'm sorry this is stupid, if you are a B&M store and are not online in some form then you deserve to go out of business. This should not be an excuse to ass fuck the same people who support you through tournaments and everyday play.
No reason why a box of FTV:E should be so high.

I got mine at MSRP from my local card shop, although he also isn't selling to the general public. He got in 11, and I only got one cause I'm the one who advertises his Legacy tournaments and handles most of the stuff for them.
The rest are being distributed as prizes for our Legacy tournaments.
