We got 5 stompy threads with a lot of stompy science packed into them. Should they all be separate just because 5 different colors or should they be consolidated into 1 thread that is focused on the further development of the stompy deck architype.

For lack of a better word they are all pretty much the same concept, get a strategically effective creature on the table asap followed by chalice"ing" or sphere"ing" out the opponent while that creature goes to town. Some make them go dual wielding samurai all over your opponent with sword of fire and ice or light and shadow backed with a jitte in the off hand.

However each is a unique color and that colors attributes brought to twist the essential bare bones of the stompy structure. For instance blue stompy decks for going the common to other colors trinisphere for force of will. but regardless it furthers the decks Chalice"ing" and sphere"ing".

essentially while these as separate threads work on making the science of each color work better in match ups i can't help but think the essential stompy structures development has stalled out. i mean once we got a red green blue black white even artifact you just are advancing each color. Can "stompy" evolve any futher? Their just competing which each other over who can win more games. Its metaphorical people judging participants in the olympics based on which country there from, when in the end there all humans.

least i hope that gets my point across.

In the title it should be 'their' and not 'there'. Even I know that .

Oh, and you forgot to mention Angel Stompy: the White Stompy.

You're right by saying all 5 stompies have the same basis. But the decks vary too much to mix the discussion. Dragon Stompy argues whether to use Taurean Mauler or Powder Kegs maindeck, while Angel Stompy discusses the value of True Believer. Merging all the threads into one Stompy thread would cause alot of confusion.

Mergin Stompies into one thread is like merging Goblins and Aggro-Elves. You know, both decks use manacheating, Watelands and tribal-powered swarm attacks. Bu I can't imagine uniting theese decks into one thread.

Dude. They use the same manabase and a couple of the same cards. That's the end of it. They play completely differently.

And "stompy" doesn't strictly mean playing big ass creatures and then playing Chalice of Trinisphere. 9-Land Stompy's biggest creature was a 2/2, and it was still "stompy". As far as I know, "stompy" is just a general term for hyper-aggressive, creature beatdown decks.

Well, I think the OP was referring to Chalice Stompy decks. Which is what most people refer to with Stompy, because 9-land Stompy really never was a big threat.

I already imagine the chaos this would generate. No reason this deck-massacre should ever be done.

AHHH, misuse of there/their/they're throws me into a fit of RAGE!

I have an BA in English, so (counting Yawg's) pentuple this.

Also, I agree that merging the Stompy threads is a bad idea. As a dinosaur of the Urza's Block era, I fondly remember Stompy from back when (the hyper-aggressive version with Rancor and Cradles, a version of which currently exists as Berserk Stompy), not to mention it's like saying StifleNought, CounterTop and Landstill are the same idea because they all run FoW, Brainstorm and Polluted Delta.

Put simply, no. As it has been previously stated, the stompy decks do not function the same. For example, take Faerie Stompy. It plays force of will, but trinisphere doesn't play well with it. So, trinisphere doesn't see (much) play in faerie stompy, but for most other stompy decks trinisphere is pretty good.

You have your most simple stompy shell, which at the very least boils down to:
4 ancient tomb
4 city of traitors
4 Chalice of the Void
Some number of other accelerants (Chrome mox, Spirit guides, etc.)

I mean, how much more do you want for a shell? Should every stompy deck play 4x wasteland? 4x Trinisphere? We simply can't say that, because not everything is useful in every stompy variant. The goal of stompy is to play more expensive, but game breaking things versus the opponent. Yet not every color has the same tools to achieve this goal. If you look in the stompy threads you'll see that people don't discuss the "shell" that much, but rather tweaking the tools their color has to best abuse the basic stompy idea of playing expensive, but gamebreaking effects.

And what is considered "slow" evolution? I challenge you to look at any established deck that's been around for awhile and show me how it evolves "fast".
