so i have canonist in play under my control. i have a cabal therapy in the yard.
I cast brainstorm and this uses up my only 1 nonartifact spell for the turn. does the canonist ability prevent me from being able to flash back therapy in the same turn as i would be killing the canonist to pay the flashback?
Oracle text: Each player who has cast a nonartifact spell this turn can't cast additional nonartifact spells.

Yes, it does.

No you cannot flashback the Therapy. You actually start to cast the spell long before you would pay costs. This is different from sacrificing things that would trigger, like Tinkering away a Chalice of the Void.

To be more specific:
You choose modes and targets before you pay costs for casting a spell. Since you cannot cast the spell, you cannot announce modes and targets, thus you cannot pay its cost.
