If I enchant a 5/6 Tarmogoyf with Infinite Authority and I'm blocked by a Goblin Lackey, do I get to put a +1/+1 counter on Tarmogoyf at the end of the combat?

You get the counter at the end step, no? If the Lackey was put into the graveyard that is.

Whenever enchanted creature blocks or becomes blocked by a creature with toughness 3 or less, destroy the other creature at end of combat. At the beginning of the next end step, if that creature was put into a graveyard this way, put a +1/+1 counter on the first creature.

Edit: Zoinks! I guess I ought to leave this to those much better than myself.

If I understand this right you only get a counter if the creature was destroyed by Inifinite Authority's trigger, which isn't the case here since Lackey dies to combat damage; so no, I don't think you get a counter.

You don't. The +1/+1 counter is given if "that creature" (Lackey) was put into a graveyard "this way" (by the triggered ability at End of Combat). Since the Lackey actually died from combat damage rather than being killed at EoC, the Goyf won't get the bonus counter.

Now the only remaining question is why you were playing Infinite Authority.

Because it's a 20-turn clock with Yotian Soldier. Duh.

I did this so I can say I've played with all cards ever printed (except the ones based in Richard Garfield's personal life, obv).

What a horrible rare. I think I'm gonna use the illustration as an avatar to claim myself the infinite authority in magic.
