View Full Version : ISO: Deck to play. Must beat Counter/Top

Hello,

I've got a local meta that is fairly predictable. My main problem is the guy playing a Bant-ish CounterTop deck. It plays Goyfs, Rhox War Monk, Qasali Pridemage and the rest of the CounterTop list: FoW, Top, Counterbalance, Ponder, Brainstorm, Daze, Swords, etc...

I'm looking for a deck that crushes this deck. I am exceedingly tired of losing to it. The rest of the meta is mostly Dredge, Merfolk, some Naya Zoo, some Survival type decks.

Any ideas? I've been looking for a solid deck and tried a few different ones and had some overall success, but struggled against CounterTop based decks.

Thanks!

I like playing DragonStompy against CB Top decks. Sometimes you do auto-lose, but the rest of the time you pretty much wreck them since almost all your spells dodge CB/Top and you have like 12-16 cards in your deck that more or less say "I Win" for the rules text.

Have you tried the Green Stompy type deck? I was thinking about that one too. It has a few more creatures, including some island walkers that should help. I played Dragon Stompy and felt like the inconsistency was a little frustrating.

Thanks for the tips though. Maybe I'll work on my Zoo deck as well. I don't think I could get good enough with Ichorid.

I have not tried the green stompy deck, to be honest I haven't played ANY stompy decks for a while now. The guy I used to borrow most of the DS stuff from sold his collection, so I haven't been doing much with the deck for a while. I can certainly understand not wanting to put up with DS's inconsisency though, it can be quite the bother when the deck isn't cooperating. I've lost the finals of a tournament before to mulling to 5 two games in a row without even having decent 5 card hands, and gotten very frustrated about it. :(
