What deck to build?

The Source: Your Source for finding me a new deck?

Hey guys,
I've been thinking about buying a new deck since I'm only in possession of the Dredge and Stormcombo Pool at the moment.
The only conditions are that the deck should be able to beat the following consistently:
- Zoo/Sligh
- Merfolk
- Countertop

Preferably it would be a rather controllish deck, but it doesn't really matter.
I'm counting on your help!

I'd go for The Rock. Put some Pernicious Deeds in there and you're golden. Isn't there a thread somewhere for this?

Thats what I told him as well - but he hates the rock-stylish decks.
I 'ld say goblins is the way to go - or he could play zoo ;)

I'd personally go for Countertop or Canadian Thresh.
They're solid choices and off course controllish.

CounterTop against CounterTop is just the mirror. Mirrors are 50/50, so not exactly favorable. Besides, it loses to Merfolk.

Tempo Thresh against Merfolk is pretty 50/50 (yes you can burn their creatures, but if they counter yours you have no threats left), and against CounterTop it's slightly in CounterTop's favor I think. The only favorable match-up there is Zoo.

I've seen Merfolk do some crazy things, if built and mulligan'd correctly. If you want controlish without auto-losing to Countertop hate, its a great choice.

As for Tempo Thresh against Merfolk.. I'm yet to lose a full match to Merfolks.
I doubt it's 50/50 if played correctly.

Well you could play Ichorid, maybe. It's a deck you just have not learn how to play through the hate...
