Grim Discovery :1::b:
Sorcery (C)

Choose one or both - Return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand, and/or return target land card from your graveyard to your hand.

I think that card is awesome. Get back the Fetch or the Wasteland and a (countered) creature. Pure CA

Also nice for the new combo with depths

Good god. Imagine having Ob Nixilis on the board, discarding a Korlash to his Grandeur ability, crack a Fetch, play this spell, discard Korlash again, play the Fetch and crack it again...

Sounds cool. And dangerous.

This would be a great card for Limited, but what does it do for Legacy which isn't fulfilled by other options already? Why bother with getting a single land in hand when we can get multiple (Loam) or just put it into play (Crucible; yes, more expensive, but it's permanent and more useful)? And why get a creature in hand when we can simply put it into play for cheaper (Reanimate, et al?)

Indeed...you can play Intuition/Gifts Ungiven for Hexmage + Depths + something else, and if they give you the "something else" still get your combo.

It's a bad Loam and a bad Unearth, but in decks that actually want both of those effects (I'm thinking Aggro Loam), it could find some slots.

lol, gifts for Hexmage, Dark Depth, Grim Discovery and Eternal Witness is so cool! Too bad Gifts is "banned" in EDH, as that would have been a very nice play.

don't forget regrowth is possibility too when gifting.

Except that this is pretty much strictly better in that particular pile since it means the combo can be performed the next turn for less mana (4 instead of 7 to be exact), and you still have Regrowth in hand if anything goes tits, meaning it's actually better for the opponent to leave you with Regrowth + Piece, meaning you can always combo out next turn with the 4 mana you cast Gifts with even with the Dark Depths land drop.

...Wait, what?

Useful for Gifts Ungiven and Intuition piles, there's probably something there.

Yes it is. A card like this could make Gifts Ungiven closer to being competitive. I'm not sure if it's enough but it's definitely a step in the right direction.
