So... We want to run another source tournament.

I will be running this one, but I will only do it if there will be enough people to make it worth while for the rest of us.

I will try to attain some prizes (donations from kindly source members), and i will be willing to put up some actual prizes if the attendance is more than 40 people, I will put up dual lands (it may be either a FBB tundra or volcanic island) for the winner.

So... Who is interested in having this thing?

I want in. Sorry in advance for whoever has to play me. I am so good at magic. By that I mean that MWS always seems to put my opponents down to 4 cards due to my jedi influences on the shuffler.

I'm interested, just please wait for the official (http://www.mwsgames.com/index.php/Main_Page) Zendikar patch to be released.

I guess it is only logical to wait for the patch to be official (I assume there will be lots of people taking advantage of the new enemy fetches)...

I want to start sign-ups for the tournament official in about two weeks... that will give me enough time to talk to people on here about possible donations for prize support (PM me please if anyone's got anything they would be willing to donate), and it will give me enough time to organize it properly (balancing this with real life responsibilities... ewww).

I will write out all of the requirements, as well as how the tournament will be organized on:

Oct 20, 2009

The opening will be about a week long and the rounds will be two days long (unless too many people have too many difficulties finding their opponents... but we'll cross that road when we get there)... with a cut to top 8 at the end.

I will try to acquire enough prizes to make the entire top 8 happy... but at least there's bragging rights!

I have an open a schedule as anyone you could find, so short rounds would be good for me, but i REALY doubt that even half the people in this tourny would be able to get a match in in two days. when your oppenent is 7 hours ahead of you, and you both have school/work, there can be almost no window in which to meat. For a lot of people, the weekend will be the only time they can afford to stay up till 2am (or spend the time at 8am) to play a round of magic.

At the moment it seems that the ultimate question about life, the universe and everything is "How many players are interested in participating in the next Source tournament?"

Hmmm... with differing timezone issues, you may be right about two day rounds...

Perhaps 4 day rounds may be more appropriate, this will be my first online tourney, so thanks for the input.

As i said though, nothing will be official until then... so for now, all I am interested are about how many people may actually be competing.

It's kind of a catch 22. You don't want to finalize anything without knowing how many people, but without a firmer understanding of what this will entail it is difficult to give a definitive answer if I – and probably others – are interested in participating. Maybe you could put me down as a loose yes for now.

Yeah... i've got several PMs about this already... and already found a few possible donations (more please?)...

Im sorry i cannot be as Firm and definite as everyone would like... I am trying.

The '2day rounds' would be an issue, and would make it impossible for us to allow international competition (which i do want)... so The rounds will need to be 3-5 days... we will have to work out the kinks.
