With the availability of twice as many fetchlands, has anyone else noticed that it is significantly cheaper to purchase the amount you need than before? I only ask because it the past few days I've managed to get 4 Misty Rainforest and 4 Arid Mesa for 100 dollars. Though it is a significant expenditure, I can't help but feel that it is a very good price considering how much they are used in every format.

yeah, prices on them have been dropping as much as prices have gone up. some people list things on ebay based on what they've seen them sell for locally or what they think they are worth. no real vast market research. ebay is currently flooded with them. people are listing misty rainforest anywhere from $12.50 to $20 each. needless to say the $80 playsets arent moving at all and the $50 ones are. its like most people dont bother to check what all the of the other auctions are being listed at or selling for.

I saw a playset of Wooded Foothills not even go for 50 which combined with the purchase of the new fetches prompted this query. I think it's important because it helps to lower the entry cost to Legacy from another format like extended.

wooded foothills usually sells for $50-$55 on average

locally the new ones (regardless of color) are going for 15 each but I have not gone to get my sets yet. Personally I hope as more zendikar packs are opened the fetch prices will go down since i don't really want to pay more than 10 a piece (a guy can hope:laugh: )

Ahaha, yeah, I know the feeling, I've paid 12.50 each for mine which I think is pretty fair.

2 shops in my area (under 100 miles away) have them for $12 each or under for the new ones. Kind of makes me think as more and more Zendikar gets out there that the price on older ones is going to drop some also. I figure they will all settle at about $12 each for blue/? ones and $10 each for non-blue and maybe a $1 or $2 more for the older ones eventually. Honestly I am pulling my Flooded strands and Deltas from solidarity and putting in the Misty rain forest and U/R one in there place just because I have a better use for the older ones in non mono U decks. An goblins got one of the R/B and R/G ones replaced with 2 of the B/G just to have a little more stability in the mana base since I am running 3 of each R/G/B based duals in the deck.

Most of the old fetches will be worth significantly more than the new counterparts once prices settle due to the fact that they will be much harder to come by. The print run on zendikar is going to be massive compared to that of onslaught and they are much more common too as zendikar is a much smaller set than onslaught. The only fetch that will be killed is bloodstained mire since it is easily the worst one.

Maybe the Blue ones, but Wooded Foothills and Windswept Heaths are already dropping in eBay price due to Arid Mesa and Misty Rainforests being essentially what those decks want anyway.

I'm not saying they won't drop, but I don't really expect to see foothills and heath going below $10 each. Mire on the other hand will go below $10 imo and so will the new ones that aren't named misty rainforest.

I think Mesa will stay up too given the prevalence of Zoo decks in what feels like every format. Mire is pretty bad, but if Foothills and Heaths go to 10 and Tarns, Flats, and new Heaths hit that price do you think there will be an upsurge in players at least trying to experiment with Legacy? Using less duals and more fetches along with non-FOW decks definitely makes the transition much easier.

Is it fair to say that the onslaught fetches are dropping because they rotated out of extended? By the same token, because the new fetches are extended and standard-playable, the price won't drop all that much after the initial hype is over?

I got my Zendikar fetches for 11.99 USD a piece from an online vendor that was having a one-day sale.

I think 4 Bloodstained Mire, 4 Wooded Foothills is still better than running Verdant Catacombs, being able to pull up basic Mountains is relevant, especially as more double red casting cards are working their way into the deck (Chieftain, Instigator). Catacombs would really only be relevant if you playing/accessing basic Forest or Swamp, even if you were I'd think having all of them get Moutain will be needed more often.

On the pricing I'd imagine the Blues all settle in the $15-20 range and the non-Blues in the $10-15 range.

I sold a playset of Verdant Catacombs a week or so ago for $57 on ebay. The price on those will probably go down once enough playable alternatives to Jund crop up in Standard.

I imagine the price on the white/red fetch will remain high for a while, since a bunch of Standard decks play it, or could potentially do so.

Prices are continuing to plummet. When's a good time to make the plunge on 20 fetchlands if you're not planning to play in tournaments or Friday nights anytime soon?

This is what fetches are sitting at right now

Delta 15-14
Strand 14-13
Foothills 12-11
Windswept 10
Bloodstained 10

Misty 12
Verdant 12
Scalding tarn 12-11
Arid mesa 11
Marsh flats 10

New fetches are still dropping. Polluted delta and strand had dropped a bit, but they have stabilized, and shouldnt drop any more. Limited season is starting after extended, so there will be alot of zen opened. Wouldnt surprise me to see most of the new fetches at around 8-9

I dont think mire and heath are that low yet. MOTL prices (both regular and weekly) have them at 11-12$. Suprisingly the Onslaught U fetches have been the ones falling, and not the others.

Also, andrew77, if you are andrew777 from motl, please please please be petty and do something about this thread (http://www.magictraders.com/ubb/Forum13/HTML/021670.html)
