Well; he's unbanned, so why not try it out.
Thoughts? I know the mind spring's aren't ideal at all. Maybe brainstorm.
I'm thinking some wastelands in there or mishra's factorys over the Urza land set.

Also considering Stuffy Doll with the Masticore engine, he really can be a machine gun of sorts in this deck versus aggro.

Well, I like the idea of the deck, but I don't see it as competitive.
First, if you play the Urza lands, play 4 of each (moreso if you don't have any tutor for them). Actualy, you're playing 6 lands that read:
Tap: add 1 to your mana pool
because with 2 of each you won't find the 3 types never.

Another point is against aggro you will loose every match. You don't have any answer to those decks. Maybe 4 propagandas or ensnaring bridges is a good starting point.

One of my teammates is doing this in a Stax shell, sort of. It's running Chalice and Smokestack in place of some of the more awful cards.

I don't think the Urza lands are viable in Legacy at all, though.

I play it in this list. It's aggro-combo.

// Lands
1 [TSP] Academy Ruins
4 [MR] Seat of the Synod
4 [AQ] Mishra's Factory (3)
4 [MI] Island (1)
4 [TE] Wasteland
4 [TE] Ancient Tomb
1 [DS] Blinkmoth Nexus

// Creatures (utility creatures)
4 [MR] Solemn Simulacrum (CA and mana development)
4 [UD] Metalworker (a lot of mana!)
3 [CS] Arcum Dagsson (tutor)
4 [FD] Trinket Mage (chalice, mana development and equipment, all 3 are very important)
2 [CFX] Master Transmuter (tricks)

// Spells
1 [FD] Crucible of Worlds
2 [US] Smokestack
1 [FD] Staff of Domination (just one to be tutored, I don't want to rely too muck on metalworker)
4 [MR] Chalice of the Void
4 [DS] Trinisphere
4 [SH] Mox Diamond
1 [ALA] Sigil of Distinction (tutorable stuff with trinket and kill in the turn once staff+metalworker online)
1 [BOK] Umezawa's Jitte
1 [DS] Sword of Light and Shadow
1 [DS] Sword of Fire and Ice
1 [7E] Ensnaring Bridge

// Sideboard
SB: 1 [BOK] Umezawa's Jitte
SB: 1 [DS] Sword of Light and Shadow
SB: 1 [DS] Sword of Fire and Ice
SB: 2 [M10] Pithing Needle
SB: 4 [MM] Rishadan Port (against and for mana denial)
SB: 1 [CH] Tormod's Crypt
SB: 3 [FD] Silent Arbiter (deals with swarms)
SB: 2 [ALA] Relic of Progenitus

I know it completely destroys goblins. I never did extensive tests for other MUs though.

@ Qball : the urza lands are not good in legacy to many wastelands and LD running around we can just blow up the land that you need to get tron online.

@Maveric78f : i really like your deck.one benefit of your deck is you will not have to worry about counterbalance decks at all.the one of sideboard is a little different but then again i have not played your deck at all i just looked at it 5 minutes ago for the first time.what about oblivion stone?it gives you ways to blow up the world while still staying in your color.it may be to slow but i used to do it in extended.Granted the two formats are totally opposite of each other but it was just a suggestion.

Thanks for the input, I've been playing Legacy with Dreadstill for a while, but this was just a throw together seeing Staff of Domination and Metal Worker.

Master Transmuter has an interesting policy to him, almost like an odd tinker and avoid removal all in one.

The Urza's lands are certainly a dumb idea looking at it, I'm not sure what I was thinking.

Academy and Factory's would probably be a bit better.

What do you think of making it toolboxy of sorts, maybe the wrong word, but fairly one or 2 of's in order to tutor for the moment.

I see masticore as having huge power in this deck, either just as mass removal or with a Stuffy Doll in play for instant-win.

Trinket Mage is something I'm very familiar with, I like the idea.

Arcum seems a decent tutor, but requires you to have an artifact creature to sac.

Crucible's good of course with the man lands, but what of Stax. It seems you need quite a decent lock down to get it working, certainly need the Crucible.

Trinisphere is good versus alot with this deck, but Diamond with only 22 lands? Seems like you don't have enough to be consistent.

Swords don't seem all that useful though here.

So..

what about using the fetch from the last set?it was in what mirroden to the 2U search for a artifact.you cuold run a toolbox as you said of artifacts.what you might condisder is trying out some vintage stax guys. there are alot of good ones.with the unbanning of metal worker we could turn this into a somewhat of a stax build.granted we do not have the power to work with but hey neither do the opponents.
I do like the idea of a stuffy doll/masticore inta kill.just make sure you do not make the deck so reliant on metal worker that if he dies you are screwed.

Here's a list I've been messing around with on MWS.

MetalBlue

// Lands
8 Island
2 Academy Ruins
4 Seat of the Synod
4 Crystal Vein
4 Ancient Tomb

// Creatures
4 Metalworker
1 Duplicant
2 Master Transmuter
1 Masticore
1 Sundering Titan
2 Inkwell Leviathan
4 Esperzoa

// Spells
4 Trinisphere
1 Crucible of Worlds
1 Mindslaver
4 Tangle Wire
2 Voltaic Key
4 Chalice of the Void
3 Intuition
4 Thirst for Knowledge

No SB as of yet.

The deck has a few tricks in it.

Esperzoa and Tangle Wire work really well together.

Voltaic Key actually has a relevant target in Metalworker.

My first Intuition pile is usally Mindslaver, Crucible, Academy Ruins. That usally ends the game.

A thought at the tool box approach;
http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=456724

2 Master Transmuter (Tricks and fire magnet)
2 Masticore (Machine gun down troops, with a stuffy, lethal)
4 Metalworker (Mana)
1 Phyrexian Colossus (Easy to untap and get in play, almost like a collosus of Sardia, but harder to block, considering a Darksteel)
1 Stuffy Doll (Manticore combo or annoyance blocker)
2 Tezzeret the Seeker (Uber tutor)

1 Crucible of Worlds (Recur lands)
1 Crumbling Sanctuary (Stop damage to face)
3 Ensnaring Bridge (Stop aggro)
1 Iron Maiden (Not sure, but can be used to force draw on people, but then again if you have the mana might as well mill)
1 Mishra's Helix (Lock down lands)
3 Mox Diamond (More blue and artifact goodness)
1 Phyrexian Processor (Big creature quickly)
1 Staff of Domination (Combo with Metalworker)
1 Stroke of Genius (Mill or heavy draw)
3 Tangle Wire (Stall)
2 Thousand-Year Elixir (Immediate use of transmuter or metalworker with a voltaic key)
3 Thran Dynamo (Mana!)
1 Trinisphere (Not much below 3 anyway)
3 Voltaic Key (Basic untapper)

3 Ancient Tomb
4 City of Traitors
4 Island
4 Mishra's Factory
4 Rishadan Port
4 Seat of the Synod

Tutor abilities with a big punch and wide array of options, most are 2 card combo's, some involve Metalworker, and all can be accelerated out with the plentiful supply of colorless mana.

Sideboard;

1 Darksteel Colossus (A big bully)
3 Defense Grid (Stall and stop control)
1 Ensnaring Bridge
1 Hornet Cannon (Instant kill via creature overload)
2 Smokestack (Could be playable)
1 Storage Matrix (Might not need to untap my land, but they will)
1 Stroke of Genius (More draw)
1 Stuffy Doll (Who doesn't love stuffy)
1 Trinisphere (When you really want it)
2 Upheaval (When you have a billion floating mana and they've got something bothering you)
1 Voltaic Key

Since there's a few options in there.
The ability to Hornet cannon for lethal hornet's is not so bad.

Considering another color since Mirrodin has all those artifact lands and those islands are just being, well islands right now ;)
Any thoughts on something highly functional that might stall for time or make a great sideboard? Maybe something with mana for card draw would be good? Or a Dark Depths in there for the hell of it?

Maybe I'm crazy, but since when has Candelabra of Tawnos been Legacy legal?

A better question is, when was it ever banned? Because as far as I know it never has been.
