Anyone else from Arizona going to Columbus? The only way I'm going to this is if I have a way to reduce costs somehow.

EDIT: In before Europeans point out how much traveling they had to do in the years since the last European Legacy GP. As a good American, I excel at bitching.

Not just 2 legacy GPs, but foil Jittes for going. Hell yeah. Hopefully this trend will keep going until we get a whole legacy season.

Not anywhere in Europe. In MADRID!!! I think I have to actually go to this. I mean going to Madrid and playing in a legacy GP. Much better than playing in a legacy GP in the middle of Ohio. Just the idea of going to Columbus gives me a headache.

Actually looking at dates I can't even go to Columbus. MADRID HERE I COME!!!

I don't know the context but I assume you mean this tournament 'feeding' a Pro Tour. It means that top x of the GP will be qualified to go to Pro Tour Y. So that GP 'Feeds' that Pro tour.

For the very first time in my whole fucking life, I actually fancy joining a circle jerk, but holy shit, my balls exploded right after I read that... :really:

More seriously, a Legacy GP just in my backyard, best fucking news ever...

Looking like about 120-130euro for the weekend Nihil, including flights from the UK and hostels! And the Mrs has already said yes!

all-around, fewer GP's than last season. And last year I had Chicago and Boston that were feasible for me to attend, next year looks lik just Columbus. I saw baltimore and was like "maybe"...but then saw standard and said "cuff no"

upon further thought: I have some time to maybe get into standard.

You can usually stay at a pension. There's some really nice family run ones around the Puerta del Sol. Should be like 40 euros a night for a room with 2 beds so its almost as cheap as a hostel.

I'm pretty excited...I only went to Chicago last year because it was close; long travel's not really an option for me...but since it's staying in the midwest, I'll probably be able to go again. Nice!

Are you really complaining that this is far when your states nearly touch? Columbus is not far from Syracuse.

WOW! I checked plane ticket costs to Madrid: a lot!

I'll look for Columbus later, but American visa is a bitch to get, so it's not very likely that I'll be able to make it to a Legacy GP in 2010. There is no chance I could make profit with a trip like that, but I do have some vacation to take and meeting a new country is always a nice thing to do.

Anyways, increased Legacy high profile tournaments are good for the community as a whole, as it charms newcomers and may even be reflected in the R&D work for next sets. Thus, I am really happy with the news. (I still hope for a Fuck You, CB trap in Worldwake, even though zoo is the new goblins)

Well, there are too many options and, as I live here, I haven't spent much time in hotels. I think the only time I slept at something similar to an hotel was before I came here for college, and it was as traditional as creepy. However, andrew77 is pretty much right, there are hundreds of pensions all around the historic centre. There are old family run places you can show up without reservation, there are also slightly refurbished places which even happen to have a website with fees, photographs and online reservation options.

Historic centre is a solid option, you have many tourisitic and partying areas of very different kinds at walking distance and it isn't too far from any place.

However, considering last Madrid GPs have taken place in the same venue (at Casa de Campo), hotels in the Principe Pio Area (Paseo de la Florida) are usually recommended, as they are near the centre (just below the Royal Palace), and two Metro stations from the usual GP venue.

These day you can search the internet for a nice play, book online and search the location on Google Maps. However, if you're still interested in real references, I can ask some nationals where they stay when coming to Madrid's tournaments...

Yay European Legacy GP. Bah could they have put it any farther away. Portugal or Iceland I guess. Not like I have cards or money to buy them though either way, so shrug.

No. No. Never Portugal. Who in the hell wants to go to Portugal. And Iceland has too many economic problems and isn't all that accessible.

Actually, Iceland's economic problems mean that it's ridiculously cheap (http://www.google.com/finance?chdnp=1&chdd=1&chds=1&chdv=1&chvs=Linear&chdeh=0&chdet=1257455904267&chddm=1137944&q=CURRENCY:EURISK&ntsp=0) right now (for a Nordic country). The flight, though, remains expensive.

I'm confused. They already had a GP in Columbus for legacy. Isn't there another large midwest-northeast city besides Chicago and Columbus they could have chosen? (Since that seems to be the most convenient place for everyone to converge...at least the northeast and me :P)

I don't understand why they don't just do Pittsburgh. It's a pretty big city, and is about as close to the middle as you'd get.

Should you engage in closer examination of my post, you will notice that I was bringing Portugal and Iceland up as examples of locations which would be even worse -- for me -- than Madrid.

Frankly, Legacy really needs more legacy GPs in Europe. The next one should be in Germany. The central location and the fact that there are so many high level events in that country seem to make it an obvious choice imo.

Yup. There's always next year . I'm real glad we have a Legacy GP this year in Europe anyway. I've never been to Spain, so I actually like the location . I might attach a few extra days to the trip...

So, I was wondering, do you guys think that they will "reprint" any old cards to support the meta/competition like they did with judge fetches, survivals and such? Are there any chance that they will reprint FoW, Duals or what not?
