This is a list that I've been working around as a side project. I started off with Blue "Workshopless" Aggro and went for straight MUD Aggro but wanted to see how Red "Workshopless" Aggro worked out. Here's my list for discussion:
METALCORE
4 City of Traitors
4 Ancient Tomb
4 Wasteland
4 Mishra's Factory
4 Great Furnace
5 Mountain
4 Goblin Welder
4 Metalworker
3 Masticore
2 Sundering Titan
4 Mox Diamond
3 Winter Orb
4 Trinisphere
3 Crucible of Worlds
4 Tangle Wire
2 Staff of Domination
2 Smokestack
SB:
3 Pithing Needle
4 Powder Keg
4 Sphere of Resistance
4 Defense Grid/REB/Pyroblast
The loss of Chalice is the only thing I dislike about the deck. But it does allow to play and utilize Welder which is a solid card in this deck.
Welder does get hit by a ton of removal but when you are playing out Trinispheres + Tangle Wire/Winter Orb, your opponent has to think twice before he decides to either play a threat or remove your threat. Even if Welder is removed, your opponent will have less removal to deal with either Masticore or Metalworker, all of which are potentially even bigger threats.
2 Sundering Titan is in the MD because it is very easily castable with Metalworker or could be welded in. The deck has some synergy with Welder: Recurring Tangle Wires + Winter Orb for a soft lock, recurring back countered Crucibles to keep your opponents waste-locked more easily, or bringing back any big spells discarded off a Masticore. Most of the time if Welder sticks, you're going to be having a good time. He's most likely not going to stick, so it's good to keep baiting with spells depending on your hand. I would try to bait with Crucibles/Winter Orb/Metalworker and if they're countered, it means one less counter for Welder who will be able to bring all of them back eventually.
I'm not entirely sold on Sundering Titan but I feel the deck needs another big beater other than Masticore. I would play Razormane Masticore but I feel that Masticore is in general much harder to deal with and packs the punch with his regeneration and having more synergy with Metalworker.
This deck is in its infant stages and I would like to see how it develops. Remember: No MUD or blue-based discussions.
