Was curious to see what everyone else thought about the sliver foily deck. I'm normally a huge sucker for special sets (purchased every dual deck but elves vs goblins - couldn't snag FTV:E) - but this one just doesn't really seem all that amazing.
If counter-sliver hadn't gotten nerfed by the M10 rules change, I might be thinking differently.

You do get a foil Winged Sliver, a Crystalline, and a Foil Rootbound Crag in it, but that's the only things worth noting really. It's too bad too, that was a perfect time to make a "premium" version of Sliver Queen and reprint her while they had a chance.
I picked one up to sit on just in case it eventually gets silly (it is slivers after all). People thought I was dumb for buying up a bunch of Three Kingdoms crap and sitting on it for years too so it pays every once in a while.

You also get foil Hibernation, which isn't available any other way. If the set had two Crystalline, 2 Hibernation, and 2 Winged, I would have bought two. But it doesn't, so I didn't.
Hibernation got worse with the M10 changes, but you ABSOLUTELY still run it in the deck. Dodging removal and chump blocking were what you used it for 90+% of the time anyways.

Hibernation was in 8th, so yeah there are foils.

If anyone is interested, Gatherer has the visual spoiler up on this deck (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?output=spoiler&method=visual&action=advanced&set=[%22Premium+Deck+Series:+Slivers%22]), and the basic lands use some of the Tempest art.
Edit: I really like the new frames on the old staples, particularly the gold cards. Muscle and Winged look great with new frames as well. Probably better to pick them up as singles though.

not real excited, no. instead of just making a random foil slivers set, they could have made it closer to a foil legacy playable slivers deck. kind of like precon decks, how 99% of the time they are useless piles. designed more to give people an intro into shitty deck building than anything even remotely close to FNM top 4 decks.

I'd hate to necro this thread, but I wanted to ask something.
What if I could get it below MSRP? I saw 8 of them where I work and I get a 10% discount. Thoughts?

Meh. Maybe. Depends on why you want 'em, I guess. The only ones I wanted were the Winged and Hibernation, and I was able to buy 4 of each from abugames for $12.30 including s/h.

It seems pretty fun at least, sliver highlander :D
Most of the WotC precons are shitty but fun to play and this one looks like it fits the bill.

Haha that was perfect placement for Fry squinting XD
But yeah, is any place selling the basics? I really want those for EDH.

That's always been the nature of pre-constructed decks. If they were to build a real Legacy Sliver deck (with 4 x good slivers) the MSRP would be much higher.

Then again, printing a sliver queen or a barbed sliver costs the same for WotC, their value would probably bomb though.

Maybe Wizards is building up to printing everything in foils from now on. You can either buy a pack of foil new set or a pack of regular new set.

Isn't Sliver Queen on the reserved list?

But it's like printing cash, both $100 and $1 bills cost the same to produce, but as soon as they hit circulation they have different values, and the producers know that.

What if I just wanted to resell the box or most of the cards if I can get it for about $32?

It is, but foils are wizards way of going around the list. They can't reprint Sliver Queen in a set that would be standard legal, but they sure can make special promos in a "Premium" form only. Premium typically means Foil, but the odd promos here and there tend to say that isn't always the case.
Sort of like how they managed to reprint Intuition as a Judge foil and Cadaverous Bloom as a 6x9 card despite the fact they are both on the reserve list.
It's just sad they didn't take the chance to reprint Sliver Queen in this set. It would have made it worth it right there.
At least I got a ton of foils for my Sliver Overlord EDH deck.
They can't reprint Sliver Queen
They could.
Reserved list is more a promise than a contract =).

Is it worth buying to sell now?
