[Budget Tournament] -- Round 1

I've set the tournament for 5 Rounds.

Rounds will officially start on 12:01 AM Monday mornings GMT+7 and end on 12:01 AM Sunday GMT+7 of each week.

All players must acknowledge within the "Round X" thread that they intend to play and have contacted their opponent for scheduling purposes within 2 days of the beginning of a round (I think this is fair). If you haven't posted within 48 hours of the start of a round (and given an acceptable amount of time to schedule a match), then you take a loss unless your opponent has mercy on you for "showing up late".
If both players show initiative and try to schedule a match, but it never results in actually playing the match, then it will be a draw.
Any player who doesn't communicate in some form or another during a round will be dropped from the tournament.
This is a fairly casual tournament, so play with somewhat relaxed rules and be charitable please.


(I'm giving myself a full day between rounds -- My internet connection has sucked balls since we moved a few weeks ago, and I want time to hit a cafe for the connection if it becomes necessary.)

Just won 2-1 against stuckpixel. They were good games though he had to mulligan a lot.

59 lands + goyf seems to be pretty insane though. When I found my goyf within the first 3 mulligans. I won those games easy. I'm glad that it was me who developed the deck that broke the format.

I just didn't have any answers to it. It was easily 3/4 by the time it finally did me in.

Good games. They were surprising. I literally won the last game playing only one spell the entire game; it was a turn 4 Sunscour, craziness!

I had to give some thought to the johanessen v. xTrainx matchup. This was the table which was revised because of late entry. Admittedy, from what I've seen, I think xTrainx tried much harder to make it work; thus, this decision leaves a bad taste in my mouth. However, given the last-minute changes (enrollment after Round 1 was already paired), and the fact that there was some communication (even if it had no result), I must give some allowances to both players, and the result will be a draw.
