So I was faithfully perusing the spoilers for Worldwake, and I saw maybe the coolest card ever:

Quest for Ula's Temple (U)
Enchantment
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may look at the top card of your library. If it's a creature card, you may reveal it and put a quest counter on Quest for Ula's Temple.
At the beginning of each end step, if there are three or more quest counters on Quest for Ula's Temple, you may put a Kraken, Leviathan, Octopus, or Serpent creature card from your hand onto the battlefield.

So here's the idea:
You trigger the quest, drop a Grozoth, go get four Inkwell Leviathans, and win.

A list: I have to warn you, I'm a pretty terrible deck builder, so this list is probably awful. But it gets the basic idea across.

4 Misty Rainforest
4 Polluted Delta
4 Island
3 Underground Sea
2 Tropical Island

4 Grozoth
4 Inkwell Leviathan
4 Tarmogoyf

4 Duress
4 Ponder
4 Brainstorm
4 Lotus Petal
4 Serum Visions
1 Thoughtseize
4 Force of Will
4 Lotus Petal
2 Chrome Mox

So I guess what I was thinking about as far as these cards go:
Tarmogoyf
Really just there to stall, also another creature to trigger quest

The artifact accelerants
So you can duress/quest or look for a quest and play it turn one.

12 Cantrips
The theory is that you can begin to set up your library so quest can trigger.

I'm fairly doubtful that this deck could ever be tier one, but maybe somebody has ideas to improve it. It's a bunch of fun to play with, and kind of powerful in a weird way. Thanks for your help.

I would run top in the deck since it is amazing with that card. also if you decide to run top might as well run counterbalance. Simic sky-swallower might be a nice addition too if your looking for extra fatties.

You need to read the article about "the danger of cool things" and why cards like "Sneak Attack" are bad.

It's pretty funny that you forgot to include the Quest itself in your decklist.

Counterbalance is awesome to counter those hardcast Ionas by flipping Grozoth's and Inkwell's.

Also, does this deck scoop to a Krosan Grip?

Looks great.

While the idea is awesome, triggering the Quest is going to be difficult without either Sensei's Divining Top or more creatures, in addition to What Nihil Credo Said.

Had a great laugh after reading Nihil's post!

Yeah, definitely an oversight on my part leaving the quest out of the list.
I played a few games against various lists, and lost all of them. Wasn't really close in any. The highlight was when zoo beat with two inkwell leviathans in play. So probably just a good idea to scrap the deck and pretend it never happened...

That's the spirit!

the deck is definitely danger of cool things, but I would think that this card would certainly help with activating triggers:

Congregation at Dawn

search your library for up to three creature cards and reveal them. shuffle your library, then put those cards on top of it in any order.

that card can be a wincon for a monoU countertop, but I can't see it being anything better than tier3.

also, you obviously want 4xSensei's Divining Top

Worldly Tutor seems to be an auto include. I threw together the following list before dismissing it because it won't be Tier1:

4 Quest for Ula's Temple
4 Standstill
4 Force of Will
3 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Brainstorm
3 Spell Pierce
3 Spell Snare
3 Stifle
4 Inkwell Leviathan/Simic Sky Swallower
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Worldly Tutor
4 Misty Rainforest
2 Polluted Delta
1 Flooded Strand
3 Tropical Island
1 Island
1 Forest
4 Mishra's Factory
4 Wasteland

It's probably better to run 4 Tops and 3 Quests though.

Sage of Epityr seems to be made for this deck. He sets up the top cards and is a creature itself.
And personally if we play green and no Counterbalance I'd prefer Mirri's Guile over SDT

Yeah I was just looking at my list and was thinking Counterbalance would fit in there. So no Mirri's Guile, just fit in Counterbalance, just take out the Stifles and a Spell Pierce or so.

And so, it has just become another counterbalance deck with a crappy kill. Much like Hexmage/Dark Depths, Painter/Servant, and so on.

Yup . I guess it's quite the Johnny card.

I think you should just add 4 Leviathan, 4 Polar Kraken, and then splash for 4 Overrun. That would be awesome.
