I have recently decided to change my foil ichorid deck to foil Japanese and also build an EDH deck. The cost of these projects are going to be around 3000 dollars and I don't feel like trading down my collection to stores/vendors for a 3rd of their price. I would like to know the BEST online trading site do to the fact their is nowhere on the source for this.

On that side note do you think in the future their could be a trade thread/s started? I mean even if you let the legality go strictly through trust and on the two people trading just some sort of jumping off point would be cool on such a health community of cocky magic players.

I know that MTGSalvation has a trading forum. Dump your shit on there, browse peoples' stuff, and it's handled through replies and PM.

I don't know if it's the best, but it does exist.

Have you had any experience trading on it?
Someone suggested I look into card shark but I'm waiting to get more input on people that actually trade online.

I have used MOTL off and on for years and if you use common sense you'll be ok. They also have people selling shiznit on there in the trade auction area and that sometimes is a good bet. Keep in mind that piecing together trades for cards will also suck up a lot of time and both with postage and such. Buying them from players is probably better than trading in the long run.

Also, it must be said it depends on what you have for trade. If you only own 1 deck and you want to trade from it, it'll be harder to trade and better to buy (then sell/trade your English). If you have a lot of Legacy stuff to trade, then it'll be much easier.

I pretty much have 4 or more of every legacy playable.

Librarities is really the best forum even though it isn't as large or active as MOTL. Salvation is not worth it. MOTL is the biggest, but will give you tons of headaches and you won't have much luck finding things like japanese foils. I only use it to buy and sell, but that is just to avoid ebay fee's. Cardshark is extremely overpriced.

I shuddered when I browse that, definitely too rich for my blood.

MOTL has been working out great for me.

I did a lot of trading on MOTL back in 2004-07, getting about 60 or so refs. As long as you have fun with it, don't expect immediate gratification and don't get greedy (deals that are too good to be true usually are), it's a perfectly fine way to trade cards. Just know that the amount of money you "save" from not buying at stores (i.e. trading $20 in cards for a card that retails for $25-$30), you'll "pay" from the time you spend making the trades happen. That's why it's best to look at MOTL like's it's a fun hobby.

Getting an account on librarities is like completing a scavenger hunt. It takes a lot of searching and time.

He's one of the moderators, so you click on his name --> profile --> email address: crimpedmiscut@gmail.com

That was less complex than playing Ichorid.

MOTL is the best trading forum by far. Just be polite and make about 3x the amount of offers for each card you're looking for (like 1 out of 3 people will respond). Just keep that in mind and with any luck you'll finish your projects in short order.

The only sites where you can truly find a great selection of cards are MOTL and Librarities. If you are looking to get jap foils and what not you will not find anything on salvation and cardshark besides what a few dealers who are on multiple sites have.
