Has anyone heard of this place? I thought Super Games was the closest place to North Georgia that held regular Legacy events, but apparently this place popped up a few months ago and is holding Legacy tournaments on Saturdays. Has anyone played in one and know what kind of meta/prize support/other shit they've got going on?

I know of the place and have been meaning to make it up there. I've heard they have around 20ish players each week with a wide open meta. No clue what the prize support is.

We have a Legacy Tournament every other Saturday with a Standard Tournament on the in between Saturdays. We are also hosting a launch party for Worldwake this Friday featuring a Booster Draft starting at 6pm. The Standard and Legacy Tournaments are $5 each to enter with 75% of all entry fees going to store credit split roughly 70/30 between 1st and 2nd place. We've given away over $100 worth of store credit before. Last week there were 14 people and we gave away $52. We also have promo cards available as prizes.
For our Booster Drafts, we normally charge $16 to enter which gets you your draft packs plus one booster for the prize pot. When you enter, you may choose which booster goes into the pot (Shards, Conflux, Reborn, Zendikar, M10, or Worldwake). The top two places divide the prize pot roughly 70/30.
On Tuedays evenings we host casual play for everyone who wants to get a few matches in or wants to test out a new deck. Of course, quite a few players show up at random times throughout the week.

Starting March 5, we are hosting sanctioned Friday Night Magic. Our first one (on 3/5) will be a Booster Draft and the rest of March will feature Standard Tournaments (as this seems to be the most common format for FNM).

We are trying to build up a strong player base so we can have larger tournaments with better prizes. The more we grow, the better the tournaments! We are also racing toward becoming Advanced Organizers for Wizards of the Coast, so we could use all the support we can possibly get.

I have a mailing list to which I send out updates/reminders of our events every week or every other week. It's brief and NOT spam (at least in the traditional sense). If you'd like to get on this list, email harry.sparks@smashedbuggames.com. If email isn't preferable, the number to the store is 706.971.4075 if you have any questions/comments/suggestions.

Sweet action. I'll definitely be going to these and will try to bring some people with me.

I've been to a few of their Legacy events. The metagame is developing but shouldn't be taken lightly. I brought my pimp Zoo deck and ended up going 1-3 against like Standard/Legacy-fied decks.

The people there are really pleasant, but there are a one or two overly competitive D-bags. Overall it was fun.

Brett should so take Tempo Thresh up there and play against a bunch of Kithkin shit! That would make me smile :)

You know, the only time I ever encounter the overly competetive douche-bags is when I go to a big tourney, but since I play legacy only now ... I don't really encounter them!

Thanks, majikal. We appreciate any and all help we can get.

As far as competitive people, there's nothing much we can do about that. Magic is a competitive game, and some people take it to heart. There are all types of people no matter where you go, and we don't play favorites here. Our goal is to provide a nice, fun place to play with fair judging and good prizes.

I hope to see more and more people in the coming weeks. We would like to host a large tournament soon with a substantial prize pot. Hopefully it won't be long before that can happen!

And then you just drop Spiritmonger and win.

Get there.

While I would prefer to play against real Legacy decks, I have no problem playing against Kithkin (which doesn't exist anymore). Actually, I played against a build Austin brought to SuperGames. I proceeded to go 2-0, which made me smile. :)

Holy shit this made me laugh.

@everyone else: And yeah it's all good about the D-bags, just smash em with Enchantress like Deaver always does. Haha. The metagame is devloping though, so don't think you can bring ANT and rape, unless your Jason and know the deck in and out >.<

Bumping for awesomeness. Who's going this weekend? I'll definitely be there barring some bizarre snowstorm.

I (and therefore Loxadon Baileyarch) can't make it, but should make it to some future events. I split top 2 the first week there w/ U/W Merfolk, prize support was like 75% of the all the 5$ entries. Pretty good laid back atmosphere and a weird mix of tier 1 and homebrew deck was cool to see too.

This place was a blast! I went in with Bant Survival and split for top 2 with a pretty cool guy named Zach playing a homebrewed Rock deck with Spectral Lynxes.

Metagame was exactly as Thor described. There were lots of elf decks, a few black discard decks, Aggro Loam, Lands, Elf Survival, a couple of Standard decks, and some other stuff that I didn't see.

Haha I'm hoping you're talking about Bizzaro Zack! Because that would be pretty awesome! He got us to start playing there, guy with glasses and a baseball cap?

LOL, totally forgot I posted in this thread till I saw Bailey's latest post. Um, no, you got lucky! Kithkin > Tempo garbage! Well, at least its hella more interesting, and better at beating random jank as opposed to a meta deck like Thrash.

@whitenot: LOLOLOL!! Rock is so awesome. Spiritmonger wins games, just ask Robbie :)

Bizzaro Zack = Zack Wilson. If it was him, he is good times. And if you're reading, Zack, trade me your Jap Show and Tell!

That's the guy! We had a great time playing Vintage before the tournament started.

I'm definitely going back to this place a lot. :D

Yeah that Rock list with Lynx sounds like him alright! He runs Bloodbraid Elf in AggroLoam. He likes tech-y cards.

But yeah like Thor said we should be able to make it to more events eventually. It'll be nice to meet someone from TheSource.

Hahaha he lent that AggroLoam deck to some other guy and ended up playing against him in the Top 4. The guy cast BBE into Chalice of the Void and was like "That's bad for me, right?"

Good times. :D

I'm planning on going. Hopefully there will be enough people to play, since there's a Standard GPT in Cleveland the same day.

Loxodon and whienot are making the trip with me, so we should be ok. If nothing else there is a sports bar right next door.

So word on the street is that they're planning on moving Standard to Friday nights and doing Legacy every single Saturday! I don't know if my liver can handle that much beer every weekend! Do-Dah's is going to be the death of me! lol

Loxodon Baileyarch

Word is also on the streets that if they ever decide to open up a new shop, they will also try to get a liquor license. Apparently it's legal in their county! haha.

I think they'd have to move outside of Chatsworth to do that. The bartender over at Do-Dah's was complaining the other night about how they couldn't have liquor because of some city ordinance. :(

Well whenever the move happens! It's just something nice to think about!

Liquor license in a card shop .... FUCKING AWESOME!!! I heard the Japanese have a magic bar somewhere, America should really follow suit and create some great gaming establishments like that!

And I just thought of an awesome drinking game, anytime you are playing against some idiot running Counterbalance and they say "in response, look with Top" you take a shot of beer! That would be awesome! It would make that matchup so much more entertaining and the people who play CB way less boring!

Your opponent will say this 20-40 times a match. You want to take that many shots of whiskey in a 50 minute time span?

Good to know there's another Legacy spot in GA. Super Games has a great legacy crowd and runs a tournament every Wednesday at 7, maybe I'll have to make the drive up to Chattsworth for my second legacy fix of the week. That's a bit of a drive, about 80 miles, but it might be fun to head up a day early when going to the mountains for a weekend hike.
