So, I just lost my playset of Forces, 2 Tundras, 3 Stifles, my set of BB LoA's, and some arbitrary stuff to the storm.
At least my fetches and Wastelands survived.
and I have some extra Lords laying about. I got a RV playset from the Secret Santa.
This now leaves me with no completed decks, other than my T2 Valakut Ramp, and my Extended MWC which I just need to put it at a high enough priority to finish building (speaking of which, does anyone have any FNM Ghostly Prisons? I'm not a huge fan of foils but those are just plain sweet).
Does anyone know where I can find cheap Entombs and Siezes? I've been getting bored with Aquaman Aggro and I'd like to move myself over to mono-black or reanimator.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this post. How did you "lose your cards to the storm"? Did your house flood? Did your roof cave in or something? There are far bigger things to be concerned about in the event of a disaster than a few dual lands and Force of Wills.

How did you lose all that stuff to the storm? Do you live in Haiti?

Maybe he lost against Storm Combo and threw his cards in the trash out of rage?

I was walking home from my friend's house at like 12 (using the woods, as it was too windy on the road) and I tripped at the top of a construction berm (or something, I have no idea of its exact purpose). And lo and behold, I slip backwards and my deckbox (all white, mind you) slips out. I spent about a half hour using my phone as a flashlight trying to find it before I did, and snow and melt had gotten into the box. by the time I got home, the cards closest to the top were heavily water damaged. I guess they're still kind of playable, I'll get scans up eventually.

I actually don't feel bad for you at all. I'm always SUPER careful with my Magic cards, especially in weather? You should have been thinking about it, and not walking on slippery construction beams with valuable cardboard.

It's not actually a beam, a berm has nothing to do with that. It's a pile of dirt put there for whatever purpose it's supposed to serve.
Also, is there an attachment button I'm missing, or do I have to upload my image to photobucket first?

Upload to photobucket.

Sorry that happened, man. Sometimes no matter how careful you are, Yahweh just comes and fucks you.

It's really not that big of a deal I guess. I'm probably going to have to start raredrafting again and pawning off all of the stuff to pick up new stuff, or I can play something different entirely. Green Chalice, perhaps? Maybe Demon Stompy?
EDIT: Why is PB so slow anymore? I remember it was always pretty fast. Now it seems like every other page change I get timed out.

This seems like the best example of the quality of most of the damaged cards. You can't really see it because it's a phone picture but they're all warped the way foils always end up, only it's on a diagonal

Those are probably still playable. Try sandwiching them, individually, between heavy books (textbooks, encyclopedias, etc.), with a layer or two of paper to absorb any moisture that is left. I've salvaged water-damaged cards in this way, before; it's the same concept as a flower press.

If you leave them like that for a couple days, it should flatten them out, and minimize any further damage.

Why would you have a $400 plus deck and not have the best protection possible on it.

that fact has only just hit me. I had white dragon sleeves.

my goblins have KMC perfect Fits over the top of the card and then slid into a pink dragon shield. I then have them in the red mana symbol ion deck box.

all my other decks have KMC perfect fits and either dragon shields or KMC gunmetal

good to remember. Also, thanks to all of you for not just calling me an idiot until the thread got locked. The Forces and Tundras are okay, luckily. The Stifles still aren't straight yet, and most of my sideboard is gone.

You shouldn't touch them when wet, use a blow dryer, then just sandwich them between thick books for about a week as suggested. Do not try using a flat iron or a steam press!

Speaking of sandwiches, I never leave home during a stormy weather without having by deck box comfortably packed inside one of these:

That's why I consider Zip-lock sandwich bags as a boon to mankind.

I almost put them in rice in my panic, as that's what I've done with every cell phone that's ever hopped in my pocket as I was jumping in the pool.

These things are a lifesaver. Not only will they protect your cards if you slip and dump them into the snow, but they will keep them safe at the card shop when some idiot inevitably spills mountain dew all over the table.
