Magic tournaments aren't exactly the best environments. It's usually cramped and very loud. There are so many people in such a small space that it can get pretty stuffy. This is why it is so important not to smell terrible. It's not a large percentage of people who smell offensive, I'm thinking 5-7% but it's enough to make it very unpleasant to play.

Taking a shower, throwing on some clean clothes and some deodorant takes like 15 minutes tops. I know many people drive long distances and would like to sleep those extra fifteen minutes. Or hungover. Taking a shower will make you feel much better than those 15 minutes of sleep.

Be sure to pick out deodorant that has antiperspirant chemicals. Look on the back to see if it has at least 15% of the active ingredient. Right guard extreme is a good choice. TO uses it. If you get sweaty when you play magic (for some reason) just throw your deodorant in your bag so you can put some on between rounds.

This seems basic but for some reason people are challenged.

Wait, but what if you are an asshole? I assume it would then take a lot of effort.

My eyes have opened. From this moment on, I will only purchase toiletries that have a celebrity sponser. It all makes sense now.

This thread is charmingly honest. I support its message.
