My article this week is split between the two Eternal formats, so I’m posting here to make sure the Legacy info doesn’t get overlooked.
I actually started writing this before Ben’s article hit SCG, but it still works as a companion piece as I’m taking a look at specific cards that have gained value and how that value gain relates to Legacy. I generally try to keep myself “in the know” when it comes to card values, but I was still shocked by the dramatic increase in value for some cards (such as Show & Tell, Wasteland, Dream Halls, Aether Vial, Progenitus, Chain Lightning, and Mox Diamond), not just at the online stores but on Ebay as well.
The second half of the article is a Vintage tournament report that builds on the new combo deck I presented last week, as well as an update of a Mono-black deck called Dark Times. This is a Vintage deck that is both affordable and extremely competitive (it won a 64-person tournament on 1/3, and a 27-person tournament on 1/31) and might be interesting to Legacy players looking for a reasonably affordable deck to play in local Vintage tournaments.
