Does humility effects creatures everywhere or those just in play?

In play. In every other zone they aren't creatures, they are "creature cards"

and even if it did it wouldn't effect dredge, because dredge isn't an ability

Actually, It is an ability. It wouldnt affect Dredge because the milling is the cost. If you were to Stifle a Dredge trigger, they still would mill the top of their library. Although the Dredged card will not go back to their hand.

Incorrect.

Dredge is a replacement effect, not a activated or triggered ability. It doesn't even go on the stack.

Dredge is not even a legal target for Stifle.

Oh yes as the card with Dredge is not in the field!

Thanks!

has nothing to do with the dredge being on the field, dredge is a replacement effect. It isn't activated or triggered. dude tried saying that humility in play stops everything from bloodghast to ichorid (from triggering) and dredge, which is clearly wrong

Technically speaking, if Humility and a creature with dredge are on the battlefield, the creature will lose dredge for as long as it stays on the battlefield. Dredge is an ability, and it can be taken away. However, Humility only affects creatures, and creatures only exist on the battlefield. Since dredge doesn't do anything when the creature is on the battlefield it doesn't really matter. The creature gets the ability back when it goes to the graveyard because it's no longer a creature, it's a creature card, which is unaffected by Humility. If there is a Yixlid Jailer in play, then it will take away things like Bloodghast's landfall ability and dredge.

A card this complex should just be banned. If I was new to magic it would frustrate me to no end to play against this kind of shit. If card cannot be explained quickly and easily it is poorly designed and shouldn't be in the game. The fact that manlands get to stay their original size makes no sense logically.

NOOOOOOOO!!! You just killed magic. If just anyone at Wizards gets to read this they will think that magic has become too complicated and in a couple of years we'll all be playing a bunch of Rock, Paper, Scissors-variants with Mythic Uber Rares.

Also, thread has ceased being productive.
