Siege Gang, Warren Instigator and Combat Damage

I attack with my warren instigator and my opponent blocks with his kird ape. Can I use siege-gang to shoot his kird ape after the first damage is dealt by the instigator to kill it? Or does it all go at once?

Creatures with first strike are handled in a seperate combat damage step, with prority being regained after first strike damage is dealt. If there were no priority, creatures would not die from first strike damage.
