Hello!

I've started to play MtG again a few weeks ago after a long pause. Considering the fact that I used to play Dromar before I quit playing, I've decided to build a similar deck suited for current local metagame full of madness, ********, enchantress, ww or landstill decks.

Currently, the deck looks something like this:

1 Damnation
4 Path to Exile
3 Vindicate
4 Wrath of God

4 Brainstorm
3 Fact or Fiction
2 Ancestral Vision
1 Jace, the Mind Sculptor

2 Cunning Wish

4 Stifle
4 Rune Snag

1 Relic of Progenitus

2 Decree of Justice
1 Eternal Dragon

LANDS (I use only cards that I have, and I have only a couple of old duals):

2 Polluted Delta
2 Flooded Strand
2 Marsh Flats
5 Plains
6 Island
2 Swamp
1 Glacial Fortress
1 Watery Grave
1 Hallowed Fountain
1 Scrubland
1 Underground Sea

SB (entirely metagame based):

1 Rest for the Weary
1 Fact or Fiction
1 Teferi's Response
3 Disenchant
3 Extripate
1 Recoil
1 Zealous Persecution
4 Duress

I appreciate every comment and suggestion.

Thanks.

Why are you running Path to Exile over Swords to Plowshares? You don't mind giving your opponent some life, but the extra land will make your job harder.

How is Rune Snag compared to Mana Leak? Obviously the first one is weaker than Mana Leak, but the format is so tight on mana it might be fine.

What do you intend to Stifle? Without Wastelands to back them up (and especially with Path to Exiles), hitting opposing Fetchlands may not be enough to lock an opponent out of the game. You could use this slot for some more Countermagic. I assume you don't have Forces, but Spell Pierce might be a good fit for this slot, as you have plenty of creature removal.

I like the high land count, the Jace and Fact or Fictions, and the massive amounts of creature removal. Do you have trouble casting Wraths? It seems like a well placed Daze might slow you down a little bit too much.

I was thinking something more along the lines of Spell Pierce in the Rune Snag slot. It works well with Stifles too. Good old Counterspell always works as well. I'd run FoW before anything else. I just noticed he wasn't running it when I thought he did. heh.

This, uh, seems like UWb Landstill without Standstills/Factories. I'm not really sure if it can be more consistent, to be honest. Just 2 Ancestral Vision (that take a couple of turns to get online) and 9 4cc cards. I also don't see a FoW in the list, do you not have access to any?

@ angry troll

You are right, but unfortunately I currently own only 1 StP. I could probably wish it from the sideboard.

I'll test Mana Leak and Spell Pierce as substitutions for Rune Snag.

Stifle is very well suited for my local metagame. I intend to use it as a defensive weapon against wasteland, standstills and similar stuff.

As for the Daze. It is a nuissance. I'm considering swaping Relic, Damnation and 1 Vindicate for 3x Duress. As an alternative, I could ditch Rune Snags and include 4x Duress?

@ Kangaxx and Morbid

I unfortunately can't afford to buy FoWs at this moment. But I'll definitely try other counterspells instead of Rune Snags.

FoF's are expensive to cast, but I play card advantage cards such as WoGs, Damnation and Eternal Dragon to compensate for the lack of cheaper card draw. And if I survive until t5, than it's not a problem to cast FoF.
