// Deck file for Magic Workstation (http://www.magicworkstation.com)
// Lands
4 [U] Taiga
4 [ON] Wooded Foothills
2 [ZEN] Verdant Catacombs
2 [ON] Bloodstained Mire
4 [A] Forest (2)
2 [A] Bayou
4 [ARE] Mountain (8)
2 [B] Badlands
// Creatures
4 [ROE] Vengevine
4 [10E] Spark Elemental
4 [EVG] Llanowar Elves
4 [ZEN] Goblin Guide
4 [FNM] Wall of Blossoms
4 [ZEN] Vampire Lacerator
// Spells
4 [R] Lightning Bolt
4 [B] Regrowth
4 [OD] Entomb
This is a really rough copy. But the idea is straightforward. Entomb turn 1, 2 weenies turn 2 for a 4/3 turn 2. It's adimirable. The more I can stack my grave the better.
Just throwing out an idea, the deck is rough, but I like where it's going.

What happens when you don't see Entomb? Your creatures don't look good enough to hold their own, and by the time you get to hardcast Vengevine, your opponent will have much better creatures than a 4/3 (large Goyfs, Progenitus, Iona/Inkwell Leviathan, etc.).

Well, that's why it's up here.
It's a rough copy, and I'd like to make it better.

Maybe I'm crazy, but Kird Ape would be great in here.

What's Vengevine?
I guess it's something that was spoiled, but I don't follow spoilers, so it would be VERY useful to at least give a link or copy-paste what it does.

Haste
Whenever you cast a spell, if its the second creature spell you cast this turn, you may return Vengevine from the graveyard to the battlefield.

Somebody on the spoiler thread mentioned that Wild Mongrel discarding Vengevines then Rootwalla is a pretty cool synergistic idea. I think that is one direction that you can take this.

why would you discard that stuff with wild mongrel instead of with survival of the fittest?

You need to play 2 creature spells to set off Vengevine. Wild Mongrel counts as the first. Though Survival makes it so you can get out all the components by turn 3 while fetching you another creature.

Although, if you're discarding things to Survival, you can likely just win.

I find it a little off putting when people start threads about spoiler cards without including a scan of the spoiler (http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=103988&d=1270699331) as a courtesy for the uninitiated. I for one appreciate not having to waste even 5 seconds Googling it.
Anyway!
I like the card. I don't really like building a Legacy deck around it for its own sake since it just seems inferior to Naya Burn at a glance, and like Naya Burn, most of your deck is dead once CounterTop/Chalice hits. Also, I don't get the 4 main deck Regrowths? I mean I get that it combos nicely with Entomb, but what exactly in that list are you trying to Demonic Tutor for anyway? Lightning Bolts? Why not just add extra Incinerate/Chain Lightnings? Wall of Blossoms—why would you include this in a weenie/rush deck? I would much rather have Tarmogoyf, Bob, or Bitterblossom in that slot; a proactive beater that will threaten my opponent's life total rather than sitting there doing nothing. I also think jamis made an excellent point regarding the general inferiority of your creatures to those you'll find in opposing decks, especially Tombstalker/Goyf, which is basically why rush decks just aren't all that good right now.
I know this is all very harsh criticism but that list is really, really bad imo.

More importantly, if you're going to run Entomb, it's easier to just win by reanimating Iona, Inkwell, or Sphinx, since it's just as difficult to force through the two creature spells as it is to force through a Reanimate or Exhume.

Reanimating with Reincarnation also scores extra style points.

Have any of you considered intuition? It seems like it could work.

I'd play Buried Alive over Intuition, probably, since you get more bang for your buck. But then, copies 2-4 of BA would be fairly useless whereas Intuition could still serve as a trashy tutor. Unless you're also packing Krovivan Ghoul, Ichorid, and Bloodghast. But then, where are the 1cc weenies to trigger Vengevine? In other words, I just don't see how a Buried Alive/Intuition deck with Vengevine is better than a BA/Int deck without, eg, a UB Reanimator. Small green creatures are the reason we can't have nice things.
