I think the first question that comes to mind when seeing a rectal pattern deck is why would this be better than standard natural order rock. Basically there are 2 answers to that question. First off a turn 2 or 3 iona is a much more solid win condition than prog and emaralku is the amazing when you are behind in board position later in the game where as prog might have to stay back and defend if you are really low. The second reason is that rectal pattern is much faster than a natural order plan because either rector or pattern provides basically an instant win. Also the fact that you can living wish for a win condition adds even more to the redundancy. Obviously you open you self up to graveyard hate but the fact that you win 30% of games through beats means that you could care less. not to mention only leyline is a real problem.

Card choices:
Pattern, Rector, Living wish, Therapy these cards are the heart of the combo all needed no questions asked.
Goyf: i play green

Duress: could be thoughtseize but i don't have these and i own the rest of the deck probably will switch to borrowed thoughtseize's if I ever end up playing it competitively duress is still pretty good.

Pulse: your fix it answer to everything also can target your own guys to activate rector or pattern.

Sculler: disruption also a target for pattern could be pridemage's but heavy disruption is the hallmark of the deck.

Birds, Hierarch Mox: Speeds up the deck

Husk, Ghoul: sac outlets, also part of the beatdown plan, can sacrifice sculler for permanent discard. Played over carrion feeder because they can deal 20 with symbiotic wurm.
iona, symbiotic wurm, elderazi: these are the targets for pattern may wanna cut wurm for form of the dragon but the win now combo the wurm provides is very nice.

You have two plans either you wanna play like a bad rock deck or you go for a quick win via the pattern combo. The deck wins turn 3 a good amount of the time and can win turn 2 with a mox hand. I will update matchups later. Somethings i have toyed but dismissed include form of the dragon and cutting husks for main deck knight of reliquary and adding a high market to the mana base but that takes away from the combo plan which is plan A. Mainly the difference between this and NO rock is that this is a much more dedicated combo deck not a aggro control deck playing a 4 mana 10/10. The thing is a turn 3 pattern vs a combo or control deck for iona Puts them in a much worse position than natural order for prog where a 2 turn clock may not be enough.

Edit: spells were cut off when pasted I think you assumed that the board was the rest of my main

MY EYES!

But seriously, why not try to win faster with a combo that wins right away? (see: http://www.deckcheck.net/deck.php?id=12809).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Pattern a bit more sensitive than Natural Order? Like, you can remove the creature Pattern targets, right? Plus you can Stifle the trigger.

You may want to consider adding Cabal Therapy, as it provides disruption AND a sac outlet. Your deck needs quite a bit of tuning. I think there are way too many 2 and 3 ofs.

First off, please clean up the list. You are running 56 cards with what you have listed. (and I personally believe that you have only 42 and a 14 card sideboard, since you talk about cards that don't even show up on the list)

While chokin gave a decent list for this type of deck, it has been upgraded alot since then with newer cards. The biggest bonus is Eldrazi Conscription which is going to replace Mythic Proportions on my list and Bloodthrone Vampire if it pans out.

Please clean up the list if you would like to have a discussion over it.

Well the answer to why not just play the hulk combo is that symbiotic wurm combo also wins in one turn. Additionally as I stated in the first post once iona is in play more often than not the game is over. That list played 7 or so dead cards while this one plays 3; of iona, elderazi, and symbiotic wurm + sac outlets which also can win the game in one turn. Not that I'm opposed to a list that plays the hulk kill I just feel it's not needed and clunky.

Well the problem is that, while yes Iona does win games, there are games where you need to win right then and there.

I would like to suggest that you run more 'Ghouls', you are only running 3 MD and it's your best sac outlet.

Thank you for cleaning up your list.

What list with Mythic Proportions are you referring to? I'm currently testing Eldrazi Conscription with Academy Researchers but I'm not sure how it can fit in any other type of list.

Well the list I was refering to would be MY OWN list. But allow me to help out here.

Lands:
4 Bayou
1 Dryad Arbor
4 Forest
1 Plains
4 Savannah
1 Swamp
3 Verdant Catacombs
3 Windswept Heath

Manas:
4 Birds of Paradise
2 Noble Hierarch
4 Wall of Roots

Sac Effects:
1 Carrion Feeder
2 Nantuko Husk
2 Phyrexian Ghoul
1 Vampire Aristocrat

Fun Stuffs:
1 Eldrazi Conscription
4 Natural Order
1 Pattern of Rebirth
2 Academy Rector

Discards:
4 Cabal Therapy
2 Thoughtseize

Others:
1 Progenitus
1 Bile Urchin
1 Protean Hulk
4 Tarmogoyf
1 Karmic Guide
1 Reveillark

The reason why I'm running the Conscription is known as the 'just in case' card. For example if I have Bile Urchin, Karmic Guide or Reveillark I can still swing for over 20 with trample because I tend to attach the Conscription to the Ghoul that is attacking or is going to attack. Academy Rector can pull an Aura from your deck.

This is in the new set and seems way better than Husks as the extra mana is probably more important than an extra power and toughness.

Bloodthrone Vampire
1b
Creature - Vampire Common
Sacrifice a creature: Bloodthrone Vampire gets +2/+2 until end of turn.
1/1

Somebody mentioned Natural Order, the main reason to run pattern over it is you can search out non green creatures, which can be important.

So i guess the things that are up for debate is the hulk kill vs symbiotic wurm kill and the use of living wish. I like your list watcher the only thing I would change is conscription to form of the dragon as it is stronger when you just have a therapy and a rector. Also a cool thing to note is that people will think you are playing the rock when they see goyfs and scullers and not know your real plan until the turn you actually go off. Some cards i am trying to fit into the list are a single deed form of the dragon and the 2 drop vampire sac guy as 19 damage with symbiotic wurm is almost the same as 20. Also any comments on my sideboard would be appreciated because I'm pretty sure 8-10 cards are wrong as there are just so many options for each role.
