So I decided to build a legacy version of the life.deck, which featured the extended tournaments of 2003/2004. Back then I used to play a powerful Aluren list, so infinite life was not much of a problem. However, in the current legacy metagame, there's no infinite combo around, and I thought maybe this archetype could be viable. I chose it to be BW at the beginning, but then a friend looked up for life.decks on deckcheck and saw a couple of GW lists. I decided to keep the 8 balck cards, plus 4 Living wish, and ended up with the following 75:
37 Spells
4 Nomads en-kor
4 Shaman en-kor
3 Daru Spiritualist
4 Task Force
2 Sensei's Divining Top
4 Aether Vial
4 Duress
4 Thoughtseize
4 Living Wish
4 Condemn
3 Worthy Cause
20 Lands
4 Windsweapt Heath
4 Marsh Flats
2 Verdant Catacombs
1 Bayou
1 Savannah
4 Scrubland
3 Starlit Sanctum
1 Plains
Sideboard
1 Warrior en-kor
1 Daru Spiritualist
1 Miren, the Moaning Well
1 Felidar Sovereign
1 Doran, the Siege Tower
1 Harmonic Sliver
1 Gaddock Teeg/Ethersworn Cannonist
1 Bone Shredder
3 Krosan Grip
4 Tormod's Crypt
There's no win condition on the mainboard, as you can see. The plan is to get infinite life and aether vial on the battlefield, and the draw cards until eventually you get enough disruption and a living wish, which you can play after cleaning the opponent's hand, getting felidar sovereign on the battlefield through aether vial.
I only had the opportunity to play against 3 decks so far: Goblins, Berserk Stompy and MUC, and they were all favorable, thanks mostly to Thoughtseize and Duress. Although more testing is still needed, I believe the 8 disruption spells can make the deck competitive.
I've been trying to find slots for Eladamri's Call, but that is not an easy task.
I don't wanna get rid of SDT. It plays a very important role (and it's the main reason why I run 10 fetches.)
Now I need your comments on what can be improved.
PS: I can't afford Diamond Valleys at the momment
