Just out of curiosity, how many people on here play other formats, and what are they? I myself play a lot of Limited and EDH.

EDIT: I also like casual variant formats like Pauper or Harem.

EDH and Cube draft if I can. Basically casual fun-time.

Legacy mainly but I'll go to the random prerelease as well. Also EDH and cube, but as those are more for fun it's like a whole different game.

Anything I can get my hands on.

I restarted playing on a competetive level last years october. Since then I've played mostly legacy, since I like that format now.
Now, when the ammount of tournaments are a bit lower, I started picking up other formats as well.

- limited, I like drafting a lot, mostly I draft casually with friends. Prereleases offcourse
- Standard, Now that the national qualifiers have begun, I felt the need to prove that legacy players can do this as well.
- Extended, Always liked this format, big cardpool but still has limits. extended season is to short
- EDH, casually and keep playing it a lot.

Things that are on my list:

- Vintage, probably will play a few vintage tournaments when I get some more cards and some experience in the format
- Cube drafting, not yet been able to do so.

That should cover it, once in a while I'll hit a gateway night or FNM and do some peasant or any other wacky format.

Legacy and EDH. It just about physically hurts to sleeve up a deck that doesn't have fetches and duals.

I play mostly Legacy but I've been enjoying a great deal of EDH lately too. On occasion I will play Vintage with my wife or friends who still have the old cards. I also like to play limited.

I'll play anything. I prefer Legacy. I love drafting. I showed up at the local shop one time with a friend's Naya Lightsaber for FNM and everyone there was like "I thought you hate standard?" It's magic, and I had the day off, so I opted to play rather than not.

I think it's interesting so many people mention Cube drafting. I'm hosting a Cube draft at my local shop at the end of August. I'll borrow the Duals/Fetches I don't have and proxy P9, other than that I just about have Evan's Cube assembled. (Why does he have Honor of the Pure? How many white creatures will actually see play? I nixed that crap.)

EDIT: forgot to mention my "Other" choice. We play Planechase on our lunch breaks at work a lot, and a teammate has an awesome Type 4 box.. I'm developing my own format that for now, we're calling Achievement Hunter Magic. It's been a hit with the handful(6 or 8) people who have tried it.

I only play strictly Legacy... I'm not a full time Magic player. I dont play limited, thats probably the reason why I suck :(

I play Legacy, I've been working on getting a T2 deck built (although it's just so I have another deck to play. I probably won't bother re-building when alara rotates). I also play Sealed at pre-releases. I also seem to be one of the few people who plays normal Highlander, not EDH.

Limited, T2 (though not right now as it sucks), Extended, Vintage and various off-shot formats (Mental Magic, MYOS, Emperor, etc.).

Omg! Are there other formats?!!! :O

I don't play any other, but I used to play vintage and I do randomly play a draft or so if I can find the time.

Having 1973 in total rating and only playing legacy is quite good :)

Man, remember two years ago when Counterspell was Legal and Extended was fun?

Me too. So much for that :-/. The rotation really murdered that format.

In order of preference:

(1. Legacy)
2. Peasant
3. Sealed deck
4. Draft

In order of most played:

1.Draft
(2. Legacy)
3. Peasant
4. Sealed deck

And occasionally standard, usually when nationals come up but it's too expensive to keep up since Ravnica.

The only decks I have always ready are Legacy and EDH.

Whenever Nationals come up I build a T2 deck, and I play Vintage once in a blue moon.

I detest Limited, I don't even attend prereleases anymore =)

Standard when it's time to, Extended the same, Limited because it's cool (I mean, you get cards :p), Vintage beacause it's real Magic, and any stupid variant I can play/people will let me play.

So, I love Magic.

I try to play vintage. I have a pretty Tezz deck, but I mostly just goldfish it.

Other than Legacy, I pretty much play Limited. I play Standard sometimes, but my deck is basically reprints and lands, which does not make for a good time at FNM usually; I have more fun being a complete retard towards my opponent (using my Pimp: the Backhanding cards as Garruk Wildspeaker tokens, for instance, or declaring my chest as a blocker during combat). Then again, I have to take what my local meta gives me, which is pathetically little.

I play everything.

T2, Legacy, Extended, T1 (have all the cards but don't get out often), EDH, Cube, Multiplayer, draft, and sealed at the PRs.

I only play limited for PR's and when i can get to a draft (3-4 times a set if i'm lucky). I really prefer any sort of constructed over limited. Cube is probably my favorite limited since it feels more like constructed.

Legacy, EDH and Cube are the 3 big ones that I play. I also enjoy Peasant, although it doesn't have a huge following here.

I'll draft or sealed from time to time, but I don't go out of my way to join; I'll usually be there and might get dragged in if they need one more (avoid an odd number, make sanctioned etc).

We're also trying to start up a casual Artist Ante mini-league, although this would be *very* casual (probably just a few people) and likely very budget.

Legacy, then EDH, then Limited (I love Sealed and have never tried drafting). I play quite a lot of Legacy (obv), EDH on occasion, and sealed on pre-releases or something.

I think it's interesting that draft and EDH are by far the most popular this time around. Granted, EDH wasn't in the last poll because it wasn't on the radar then (thanks for the link, btw, Nihil).

Draft has definitely helped me to become a much better player.

EDIT: I also find it amusing that more people play only Legacy than dip into Extended. I guess the constant Thepths versus Zoo meta gets boring after a while.

I actually don't play much Legacy at all any more. I'll occasionally draft or do some sealed events, but most of my magic playing time is devoted to a small league that's a cross between sealed and block constructed. Each player buys a box of each new set (or half a box for small sets) and make decks out of what we pull. We can trade with each other in the league, but we can't bring in new cards or buy cards to make our decks with. Also, each player saves 6 packs per box and we rochester draft the packs after each of our weekly tournaments based on placement. It's a really fun way to play magic, and cheap as hell.

Yep. Legacy is really the only competitive format I play, besides drafting.

Given that I jsut decided to get back to Magic and only have a fistful of cards I would say none.

I would play everything I could though. I will start in Legacy first and try to play some proxy Vintage. I will only jump to Extended if I want more competition,, I used to be an extended player.

I mainly play Legacy, but I'll play in the pre-releases, EDH, and Vintage Ante for anyone dumb enough to take me up on it. Oh yes, I still own Alpha Contracts.

I wouldn't even call what I do as playing, but when I am allowed to play, its legacy.
I used to play more, but that certainly doesn't happen much nowadays, typically only once a month or less.
Basically I just buy lots of cards for legacy and say "yep I have legacy cards, yay!"

Sadly, this is me, too. I didn't vote because I don't want to skew the numbers, but when I am in an area that actually has Magic, I play all but Standard and Block Constructed.
