Hah hah, I'm sorry man, I just can't ever take a deck like that to another tournament. It's fun as hell to play, but you're completely at the mercy of the deck every game. When it's working, it's incredible (Rounds 2, 3, 5, and 6 were such rounds) but when it's not it just doesn't do shit. (Rounds 1, 4, and 7.) I had only one punt all day (in round 1) and every other loss was the result of the deck being so damn inconsistent. :[

1)We can playtest for the GP and have a very realistic look at what the event will look like.
2)The ratings will be locked in so that if people lose points they won't lose bye's.

Went to this today, playing Hypergenesis. Was 3-3-1 overall at ~30th place, with all players on our team doing quite well including 7th place with a very nice new Zoo list that he will be posting soon. It was my first major Legacy tournament, so I was psyched to do so well, especially with a deck with some blue troubles.
The tournament was weird: a lot of Emrakul decks, ranging from Dream Halls (okay, not really an Emrakul deck but some of the lists there had Emrakul as a backup for Show and Tell) to Hypergenesis (I think I was the only one) to simple Show and Tell to an interesting ramp list with Cloudpost/Vesuva/Eldrazi Temple, Candelabra of Tawnos and blue for Force, Repeal etc. Also a variety of control ranging from UWB Landstill to Thopter to UBR with SSS, jitte, Jace to Team America to UGB control with Goyf, Bob, and Countertop.

You stopped at three life; statistically you could have flipped two or three more (which you should have anyways; you were already at three and should have gone balls-up for the win). Plus, there's no doubt in my mind you would have gone to about four and stopped anyhow. It didn't matter because I had no immediate threat on board and I did have double Soul Spike in hand with the ability to cast both for free.

And I am quite sure you would not have stopped at eight life.

I have a theory: all of the people that normally pilot the normal meta decks were going to GP and decided not play, hence why there was only ~70 players. I mean, there was only 2 Zoo, and 2 Merfolk...paltry numbers compared to some tourneys at Juptier. New Horizons was the only DTB deck to show up in force, with 6 pilots easily.

So anyone who checked the topic should have read this and realized that it wouldn't count for GP rating. Either way it screws someone up. And regardless of whether this was done as a courtesy to good players scrubbing out, or out of a misunderstanding of the rules, he kept his word from what he posted earlier so hopefully you can appreciate that.
