board position for this is i have a standstill and my opponent has training fields and izzet guildmage. He plays a manamorphose and before standstill's trigger resolves he copies it to make alot of copies to draw his deck. does this work...oh right and all this is done before i get to draw for my standstill.

Yes, you can of course respond to Standstill's trigger.

Usually people want to respond with spells though, which would re-trigger it, but abilities get around that.
