Equipment + Planeswalker Interaction

Ok, I need a quick answer. I'm in the middle of a playtesting session with my buddies.

Board situation:

Spellstutter Sprite equipped with SoFI and SoLS on my side and an Elspeth w/ 8 loyalty counters + a Finks equipped with a SoFI.

I was wondering, If I attack the Planeswalker with my Sprite, will the triggered abilities of both pieces of equipment activate; i.e whether Planeswalkers count as "players" for the trigger?
