I'm new to this, and I started doing research into the Legacy metagame. One of the things I was thinking of playing would be the Countersliver/Meathooks deck. However, I noticed that while it is a good deck overall, there are one or two things that might help it out and make it run even better (at least, I hope so). So, I thought I would post my ideas here before I actually went ahead and built it. :)

Creatures (17):
Crystalline Sliver x4
Winged Sliver x4
Muscle Sliver x4
Sinew Sliver x4
Gemhide Sliver x3
Progenitus x1
Sliver Legion x1

Instants (16):
Brainstorm x4
Swords to Plowshares x4
Force of Will x4
Daze x4

Sorceries (3):
Natural Order x3

Artifacts (4):
Aether Vial x4

Lands (18):
Islands x1
Plains x1
Flooded Strand x4
Mutavault x3
Tropical Island x3
Tundra x3
Underground Sea x2
Windswept Heath x1

Sideboard:
Harmonic Sliver x2
Planar Void x4
Blue Elemental Blast x4
Krosan Grip x2
Stifle x3

The overall objective of the deck remains the same. Here, I've swapped out Ponder for Natural Order. The objective of this deck is to get either Progenitus or Sliver Legion on the board; consequently, I've added Gemhide Sliver for another green creature; because he's at 2 converted mana, he also works for Aether Vial. I was looking at the deck CounterTop Progenitus and thought that this might work here as well. A Sliver Legion would be a big upgrade over, let's say, two Muscle Slivers, and getting Progenitus out obviously helps.

I've changed the manabase a little bit to reflect the extra green that is now in this deck. I've removed Polluted Delta for an extra Tropical Island. The only concern I have with this deck is that it might require a mulligan or two if you actually draw into Progenitus or Legion.

Man I really like it. The fact that the Crystalline Slivers protect the NO targets is a pretty nice bonus, and drawing into a fatty shouldn't be that big of a problem with the Brainstorms.
I have no experience playing meat hooks so I can't really help out but I'm a big fan of the idea.

In what situations will you actually be getting Sliver Legion over Progenitus from Natural Order? Also, are 7 green creatures enough?

I suppose there's stallmates where a Legion will end the game the turn it's ordered into play. I'm concerned about the low green creature count too, a single Dryad Arbor seems like a natural solution.

Dryad Arbor would work pretty well, I actually hadn't thought of that. It does seem to be an upgrade over Gemhide Sliver, as you don't have to pay mana or use Aether Vial for it. I originally put in Gemhide so you could tap Gemhide for mana and then sack the Sliver you tapped, which would leave the rest of your mana pool open to play counters or what have you.

Where you'd use Legion over Progenitus is if you were sure you could swing for game by bringing Legion in. Bringing in Progentius would help if you got board nuked, or had Engineered Explosives go off or what have you. Progenitus would also work if someone else is running Countersliver and everything has flying and has about the same power.

As far as I can understand, you can cheat Dryad Arbor into play with your just-casted Aether Vial...

Or your 'cast two turns ago before i put a counter on it' Aether Vial... As long as you have 0 counters on it, you can cheat Dryad Arbor into play. Remember, Aether vial says "you may" put a counter on it.

So has anyone tried this? I'm just concerned that there won't be enough green creatures to sacrifice or coming up with enough green for the casting cost for Natural Order.
