I'm going down for the month of June to Virigina Tech, doing some research. Seeing as I'll actually have time because it's summer, I was hoping for some time to play Legacy. However, that requires a place to play at. So, if anybody knows of such a place, I'd greatly appreciate hearing about it. Thanks.

I just moved back to the United States last week. I'm going to be spending a while in Virginia (visiting family, in-laws mainly), so I second this request.

I'll be in the middle of nowhere (http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&q=Rural+Retreat+Virginia&fb=1&gl=us&ei=D-PzS53-LIvgzQTmu42jAw&ved=0CBMQpQY&hl=en&view=map&geocode=FSL0MgId4tMn-w&split=0&sll=36.901477,-81.275108&sspn=0.029389,0.034582&iwloc=A&sa=X), and I'd love to play some Legacy.

Where can I play Legacy within or around the western corner of Virginia in the next couple months? (let's say within ~100 miles of where I linked)

4eak - yikes, you really are in the middle of nowhere. There might be a games store in Blacksburg? I saw advertisments for a tournament there a few months ago, but I didn't make it. Ah here it was:

Failing that, the StarCityGames brick and mortar might actually be the next closest place, it's in Roanoke. There's also a games store in Charlottesville that does Legacy the third Saturday of every month. (http://theendgamecenter.com/) But that's a good bit farther away.

I just graduated from Virginia Tech, and am glad to be back in NoVa, cause there really isn't legacy there at all. The only card shop in blacksburg that has any magic players is Fun-n-Games, and all they do is draft and EDH. Last year they attempted to start a legacy scene, but the biggest tournament had only 12 people (and that was only because i had a friend come from charlottesville, and 3 unicorns came from nova), and the prize support was pretty much trash.

Your best bet in the southwest Virginia area is basically the Starcitygames store in Roanoke like grahf said. But barring random Legacy 5K's happening there, pretty much the only regular stuff that goes on down there is draft and Standard.

Speaking of random 5ks, there's actually a Grand Prix trial for the month that I'm here:

Anybody plan on going?

Also, Fun-N-Games is not terrible. They have some decent drafters for FNM and they have an EDH league every week which is pretty fun.

Anybody plan on going?

My wife said I could go last week. I'm still lacking a ride, so I'm working on that. I definitely want to go.

Yeah, me too. There's the Smartway bus that I could take there, but I don't think I could back to Blacksburg from there. I'm not sure if anybody at Fun-N-Games is going, but I'm trying to find a ride too.
