If this tournament is to be run at the lowest K-Value, why would you need decklists?
They have it a little backwards, REL determines K-Value. Decklists and $20 entry at regular REL is fairly odd, but supposedly they're focused more on fun than competitiveness.

Marking my calendar!
Is anyone coming to this?
I'll be there! Should be a decent amount of locals there as well. I'll contact the store owner/TO today and see if he can update the prize structure as well.

I'll be coming to the tourney with a friend or two. I have no idea what I'll be playing though, haha.

as it was relevant in that match that was made irrrelevant but should be known for future reference, the confidant trigger would not have recieved a game loss for me.
"113. Game Play Error – Missed Mandatory Trigger: A mandatory trigger has been skipped by a player.
Example: A player has Dark Confidant in play, but fails to reveal before drawing for the turn.
If a turn cycle has not passed (a turn cycle being from the beginning of a step until the end of the next identical step of the same player), immediately place the trigger on the stack. In the case of the example above, the top card of the library is revealed as though it were from the trigger, then put in hand.
For mandatory triggers which have a default action (usually specified by “if you don’t”), resolve the trigger immediately and assume that the player made the choice not to fulfill the ability. "
Its actually the example for missed trigger violations.
edit:
heres where you do get the gameloss
"114. Game Play Error – Failure to Reveal: A player forgets to reveal when required to by a spell or ability. For effects where both failure to reveal and missed trigger are applicable (such as Dark Confidant), the infraction defaults to Game Play Error – Missed Trigger. Since it is significantly easier to hide these cards on MWS/Apprentice than it is in paper Magic, the potential for abuse is significantly high, and is penalized as such.
Example: A player plays a Kodama’s Reach and puts at least one of the selected cards in their hand without revealing it.
Example: A player forgets to reveal his face down “morph” creature when it is returned to his hand.
Penalty:
All Levels – Game Loss "
Great tournament yesterday, thanks to everyone who came out! 28 players, 5 rounds of swiss, cut to top 8. Prizes were as follows:
1st - Tropical Island, Savannah, Badlands, Scrubland, Foil Promo Umezawa's Jitte
2nd - Tropical Island, Savannah, Plateau, 2 Arid Mesa
3rd - Scrubland, 2 Marsh Flats
4th - Scrubland, 2 Marsh Flats
5th-8th - Verdant Catacombs, Misty Rainforest
The next Legacy tournament at Thanks for Playing is a Grand Prix Trial for Columbus on July 17th.
@ Calexbomb - I'm not aware of the situation that occured yesterday, perhaps you could elaborate in this thread, if appropriate and potentially beneficial to others, or otherwise through PM.
Typically a missed Dark Confidant trigger will result in Game Play Error - Missed Trigger, which at Regular REL is a Caution. And we would then repair the game state by immediately resolving the trigger. I don't know who told you it would be a game loss, because even Game Play Error - Failure to Reveal (aka you put the Confidant's card in your hand without revealing it by accident) would only be a warning at Regular REL. Unless it was determined that you were doing it to "cheat," which I'm sure wasn't the case, there's no way you should be receiving a game loss at Regular REL.

I missed a bob trigger and when they were talking about the penalties for it there was disscussion that it would lead to a game loss because apparently another player had been hit by that ruling before (I don't really care about it you live and learn right) just want to make sure noone in the future gets hit by a bad call on bob (since even if we were at a higher REL this wouldn't have been a game loss since it doesn't incur that penalty) The game loss did not effect my ranking in the tournament at all anyway

What did affect his placement at the tournament was an error happened with the brackets, they were printed out, and people played through their quarterfinals games, and one match of the semifinals was finished, while the other was onto game 2. At this point, they said that the brackets were printed wrong. So, instead of going with the the printed brackets as they were, the match that was won, and the other match that was onto game 2 were invalidated, so that each person could play against who they initially intended to be paired versus. As a result Calexbomb who was ready to go to his finals match, lost in his 2nd semifinals match, while beastman who had lost his initial semifinals match, ended up winning his second semifinals and going to the finals. Both players seemed fine with this, but personally I'd be rather upset at having to replay my semifinals match, whether I won or lost. I haven't seen this happen in a tournament before, and hopefully it won't happen again.
Wow...I've never seen that happen before either...really sorry to hear about it :( Things like that take away from everyone's fun (well, at least the top 4) and shouldn't happen. The TO/Store Owner (Dave) is relatively new at running these things, but I know that's not a good excuse. I try to help him as much as possible, and will partially take the blame for this one (I left after the second quarterfinals match was done). Seems like I will need to stay through completion for any future tournaments.
Calexbomb: seems that you took this much better than I or most other people would have. I hope this didn't ruin your day or tournament and hope to see you again.
edit: Obviously, it would have been optimal if this didn't happen, but given that it did, would it have been correct to stick with the printed parings rather than the technically "correct" pairings? Considering the semis were already being played, I would have been inclined to stick with what was initially printed (provided that the top 4 matches can be manually paired in the DCI software).
You can manually pair the T8 in DCIR, and should be able to in WER also.
Sticking with what was originally announced would be the better customer service decision.
Thanks Chuck. I agree, and am sure that is what would have happened,if I had hung around until the end of the tournament. Again, sorry, to those affected.

Thanks for that, I'm not all that worried though, I actually learned something from my second semi finals match and overall enjoyed the tourney. Also, I'm on a quest to prove that nice guys do not in fact finish last.
