A tournament around my home is Having a GPT Trial. They do not have a judge. I heard the tournament would not be valid without a judge. Is this correct? Do they indeed have to have a judge?

Last weekend there was a trial scheduled in lexington KY but was cancelled due to this very thing.
I was told this was also the reason the store near me could not have a trial for Columbus but this was changed after they had their trial for DC.
A L1 judge (at minimum) is required for Columbus GPTs. I assume the same applies to all current GPTs, though it might vary in different parts of the world. The person who set up the GPT is informed that a certified judge is required, he has no excuse not to know.
